AIMing South Africa: November 2007
http://aimingsa.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 24, 2007. Not the trip story, yet. I just took 3 sleeping pills. I'm not trying to kill myself, just trying to sleep. Hopefully that'll excuse this post if it doesn't make any sense. Sorry it's been a long time since I've updated this thing, we've been all over southern Africa the past couple of weeks. But I'll write about that in a couple of days. Today was a weird day. I just wanted to be by myself; I'm not mad at anyone, but it's been a while since I've just had time to myself.

AIMing South Africa: April 2008
http://aimingsa.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 7, 2008. I started a new project and here it is. I've had really good feedback from these and I'm really getting excited about this. I've also been wanting to start a project on Islam for a while and I'm reading a book, Unveiling Islam. Can't find the underline) that explains so much about their beliefs and culture. Anyway, let me know what you think. Posted by AIMing in Africa. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Brandon and Katie's Blog. Cory and Toni Burns' Blog.

AIMing South Africa: September 2007

Thursday, September 27, 2007. So the title is pronounced with a click. To say the "Q," you click your tongue. If you're wondering what it means, it's a traditional Xhosa meal. It's probably the grossest thing I've ever seen. Now, we're going back in time to set up the story. We were a little late, because I had to wait on the car while some of the team were surfing and it ended up being just Johnathan and me. Peter said, "Like this! And then reached for a pitcher of liquid on the table. When he poure...

AIMing South Africa: June 2008
http://aimingsa.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 3, 2008. So, I'm better. On Sunday, I got to sit next to Leigh, the cutest little girl, which I always enjoy. Her mother passed shortly after we got here and left Leigh's dad, Eugene, alone with Leigh and Clio. These two kids are the cutest, sweetest kids you'd ever meet and they just love attention; I think Leigh is 4 and Clio might be 7 or 8. Anyway, Leigh just loves to be held and given physical attention. She loves to play with my phone and my hands. After we had been singing for a whil...

AIMing South Africa: December 2007
http://aimingsa.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 22, 2007. You don't usually get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity more than a couple times. Well, we got invited to be special guests of the Xhosa royal family at a cultural dinner this last weekend. It was interesting, we had dinner and listened to a crazy preacher. Anyway, one of his beliefs is that there were two different kinds of people. His biblical proof was this:. In John, there was Light and there was the one before the Light, Right? He also had some other really weird points.

AIMing South Africa: February 2008
http://aimingsa.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 6, 2008. I've been actively avoiding trying to update this thing for a couple of reasons. Although, I don't know how you can actively not do something. But I've been feeling really useless on the field for various reasons, but mainly because of the work and the fact that I haven't really connected with it. Anyway, I'm in America right now. I'm sorry I haven't updated this thing very much; hopefully I'll do better when I get back into things. I hope all is well,. Links to this post.

Tuesday, June 19, 2007. Father's Day was a different experience for me this year. Mainly because my father wasn't here. But also because for Sunday lunch we went to what they call a "Braai," which is basically a barbeque. As we were cooking the mutton, a "drunkie" came to me and started confessing his sins to me. After lunch, we honored the dads in the group. Their kids presented them with gifts and showed them how much they have meant to them. It was pretty cool. Posted by AIMing in Africa. Today, we we...

Thursday, August 14, 2008. I'm not in Africa, anymore. Well, I've been back for about 3 weeks. I've sort of been discouraged through all of it, because now in order to work there I'd definitely have to go to school at LCU without any sort of tuition "benefit" and I would have to go full-time in order to qualify for any scholarships or financial aid. I still have a lot to figure out; whether I'll go ahead and go to school this semester or to just look for another job and wait it out until January.
