It's peanut butter shelly time! I'll rock your taste buds. Thursday, May 24, 2012. My family split up into 3 teams for a friendly food competition a few weeks ago at the beach. I was captian of team caribbean. We made some crab dip, jerk paste for chicken and shrimp skewers, fruit plates, and saffron rice on the side. The grand finale was a banana rum cake for dessert. I started with a box of yellow cake mix, and added baking soda. Two eggs (cracked with one hand, like a badass). And some mashed bananas.

I really love mushrooms. and garlic. so after a dinner at chef geoffs, i tried to re-create one of the delicious sides i had there. great success! Start with a variety of mushrooms - about 24 oz. Eat mushrooms that grow in your yard! Rinse and set aside. Add equal parts butter and oil to a large pan and melt together. Mince a few cloves of garlic. Add to the pan and saute until fragrant. Add mushrooms to the pan.

Friday, January 16, 2015. December 2014: Trip to VA. My parents considered coming to San Antonio for Christmas, but instead they generously offered to help us fly out to Virginia so we could all be together. Rick had to work every day between Christmas and New Years anyway, so the kids and I took off for Virginia early Christmas morning. Very excited to fly and visit Pappy and Grandmama! Tuesday, August 11, 2015. June began with the end of the school year. Faye had joined the YMCA's preschool in January and had a great six months with Miss Melissa and Miss Lora. Saturday, August 15, 2015. We started our Fourth of July celebrations with the church's pancake breakfast. Then Ali led the kids in making some cute patriotic crafts while we prepped food. We swam and ate and played with water balloons that Jeanel had brought! Faye's cousins would often find little toads, and she adopted one to keep as a pet. This was her reaction when she found out that "Coca" had died. We ran out of time to make homemade ice cream on the fourth but did it the following Sunday instead.
