A touch of film… | Snapshots of Birmingham
https://snapshotsofbirmingham.wordpress.com/2012/09/16/a-touch-of-film
Photo's of Birmingham. A touch of film…. Every so often I like to run a roll of film through my camera, this time its Fuji Velvia 50. I had this roll loaded for ages so as the sun was shining a trip in to the city centre was in order. I have posted a similar image before, but was keen to see how the velvia handled the gold colours and the blue sky compared to my digital camera. I must say I am blown away with the saturation and depth of colours. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Sorry,...

Clent Winter… | Snapshots of Birmingham
https://snapshotsofbirmingham.wordpress.com/2013/01/15/clent-winter
Photo's of Birmingham. A fresh layer of snow had me heading up to the Clent Hills. Always one of my favourite places to go for a walk and with the sun trying to make an appearance I headed up to the four stones. The light was fantastic, a passing photographer commented “how bad the light was today”, really? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Photo's of Birmingham. Weoley Hill Winter…. I took a walk to Weoley Hill on a grey afternoon, trying to capture a “moody” image of the snow. These two images are the result. Valley Parkway, Winter. Nightime… | Snapshots of Birmingham
https://snapshotsofbirmingham.wordpress.com/2012/12/19/nightime
Photo's of Birmingham. Last year I wandered around Birmingham’s Frankfurt Market. This year I returned but decided to photograph the canal around the ICC and Brindley Place. I timed my visit to coincide with dusk in the hope of keeping the sky with some colour and not the black/brown that is in many photographs taken in the dark. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Photo's of Birmingham. Its been a while…. Its been a while since I posted, what with the weather, work and a lack of inspiration, photography has taken a back seat for the last few months. The majority of images I took were for the http:/ www.birminghamviewpoint.com/ project. So the following are the images I have submitted since May 2012. I didn’t submit a photo for subject 6 # Graffiti as I wasn’t happy with my efforts so I had a month off! Subject 7 # The Cube. You will note there is no water featured...

Straw Bales… | Snapshots of Birmingham
https://snapshotsofbirmingham.wordpress.com/2012/09/02/straw-bales
Photo's of Birmingham. Ok, so there is a shortage of fields in Birmingham so I had a drive out in to the countryside to find some. Like many photographers a field with round bales of hay freshly cut is one of the “must have” shots. I was quite pleased with this one, a black and white conversion completes the picture. Parks… | Snapshots of Birmingham
https://snapshotsofbirmingham.wordpress.com/2012/09/04/parks
Photo's of Birmingham. As promised my effort for subject 9 Birmingham Parks, http:/ www.birminghamviewpoint.com/. This one is of Selly Oak park, I had to be a bit inventive as there isn’t a lot to photograph in the park,. I settled on the sun creating shadows through the trees, with the path heading of in to the distance. I am still experimenting with my composition somewhat so this task every month sets me a challenge to work to. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Larr; Older Post.

Autumn at the Lickey’s… | Snapshots of Birmingham
https://snapshotsofbirmingham.wordpress.com/2012/11/08/autumn-at-the-lickeys
Photo's of Birmingham. Autumn at the Lickey’s…. Autumn is well and truly under way, albeit wet under foot this year. This image was the result of a walk deep in to the Lickey Hills to find some autumn colour. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. About this blog | Snapshots of Birmingham
https://snapshotsofbirmingham.wordpress.com/about-2
Photo's of Birmingham. As an amateur photographer living and working in Birmingham I did the a better camera will improve my photography phase and to a certain point it worked. I upgraded and swapped camera’s until I found a DSLR I was happy with. Fine, but there always seemed to be times when I wanted a smaller camera with me, mostly in and around the city centre when I don’t want to be lugging around a DSLR. So what to do? The humble compact of course. So this blog is the result. Enter your comment here.
