Midnight Rider and Valentino. I am using most of the same gear from last year, but there have been a few things that I have had to purchase new for this trip. There are also things that I will need in the future to finish the trip:. 1 Lightweight backpacking shovel. 3 Dry compression sack. 4 Sleeping bag liner. 5 Base top and tights for the Sierras. 6 7 bags of high calorie horse feed. I told him someone should put a rock pile next to the trail because obviously all the hikers were going across and up and then cutting down after locating the trail.
