When I’m not wallowed, there have been funny moments of noticing how much Ukraine is still inside me. I have a deep aversion to sitting near the corner of a table (sitting there would mean I’d never get married). I really have to think about sitting on concrete and oh no! Someone’s whistling inside (people lose money thataway) or leaving an empty bottle on the table (you just don’t…under the table it goes). No Responses Yet to “it’s inside”. Feed for this Entry. Maybe it’s not. I have decided to be happy (again) (in America). I have decided to stop making so much of me and my existence wrong. Mostly, though, I have decided to be proud of my three years in Peace Corps and to hold that experience within me as my own and a sacred space where I had the opportunity to grow and know myself in a way I’m incredibly honored to have experienced.
