Just A Little Detour: April 2010
http://justalittledetour.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 26, 2010. Just a little bit of hope. In March we held a luncheon/silent auction and had over 120 attending. It was our first major fund raiser and we were excited at the turn out. It introduced local expats and Chinese to the efforts of the Hopeful Hearts Charity and has attracted more involvement from individuals and the business community. The Hopeful Hearts team getting ready for the concert. Our Hopeful Hearts leader, Emelyn, welcoming guests. Music groups and dancers. Fun for all ages.

Just A Little Detour: November 2010
http://justalittledetour.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 28, 2010. Just a little Oktoberfest-Munich style. Those Germans know how to throw a party! We spent most of our day in the Lowenbrau tent enjoying the beer and music. We met some young men from Venice that were Gondoliers. Joe was wearing his Texas Rangers Playoffs T-shirt and we met a young couple, Kelly and Jason, who were from Irving, Texas. Small world. Oktoberfest is certainly a great place to get to know the German people. Next up: We drive to Venice, Italy! Papa Joe and Talon.

Just A Little Detour: February 2010

Thursday, February 25, 2010. Jay and Ashley come to China! Yes, we had visitors last week! Jay and Ashley came for Chinese New Year. I was so excited to have them come at this exciting time. Last year Joe and I experienced Chinese New Year for the first time up close and personal. When Jay saw our pictures and heard about our experience, he wanted to come. Although this little city of 10 million practically closes up during Chinese New Year we still had enough to entertain Jay and Ashley. I think Jay and...

http://justalittledetour.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Just a little bit more about October 2011 . . . . What was the biggest event in Fall 2011? When we were home in October, Joe and I found out we would be grandparents again! This time to a real, human baby, not a puppy! I have a lot of Gran Kimi time to make up for and a new little one will surely keep me busy. Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Just a little about October and November 2011. Before we knew it, November was here. Joe had business in Beijing and I decided to go with...

Just A Little Detour: February 2011
http://justalittledetour.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 27, 2011. Just a little updating in 2011 . . . My friends were gradually getting back from their homes in the US, Canada and elsewhere and holidays with their families. We all felt the same way about this gloomy weather. We readily got back into routines of weekly foot massages, lunches together, mahjong and shopping. We got back to our weekend get-togethers for dinners, pool tournaments and fun times with our neighbors. Joe and his buddies. A few of my girlfriends. Papa Joe and Talon.

Monday, December 6, 2010. Just a little detour through Venice, Italy! We stopped off in Garmisch again to have breakfast before hitting the road for Venice. Our drive took us through some beautiful areas of southern Germany and into Austria. We drove through and got a small glimpse of Innsbruck, Austria. The mountains and surrounding countryside were amazing. We arrived in Venice in mid afternoon. Next up - Rome, the Eternal City! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Oktoberfest, Munich, Germany-2010.

http://justalittledetour.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 19, 2010. Just a couple of years. Today is our anniversary. We've been in China for two years now. I can't believe that these past two years have flown by like they have. We've had the most extraordinary experiences. We've seen some amazing parts of the world, met some wonderful people and made some lasting memories. The plan is for us to be home by December 2011. Keeping our fingers crossed! The way time has flown by so far, we'll be home before you know it! Thursday, July 8, 2010. We were ...

Monday, September 6, 2010. Just a little wrapping up summer . . . I know it's been a little while since I've posted. Not sure why that is, just getting a little lazy I guess. It's actually been a little quiet around here. Aside from house hunting, we've had a pretty normal but extremely wet end of the summer. It was so funny to see the wait staff dressed up for the evening. Most of them were dressed as Indians (the native American kind)! We have a great bunch of friends in our neighborhood and are enjoyi...
