PDX Breakfast Blog

Tuesday, June 02, 2009. This past Sunday I was fortunate enough to eat brunch at Simpatica Dining Hall. It was hands down the best breakfast I've ever had in my entire life. Seriously. And that wasn't all that I ate. Erin ordered the chicken and waffles. She said the waffles were good, but the chicken was probably the most flavorful chicken she had ever had. I didn't try it, but I trust Erin's judgment when it comes to meat. Posted by mel @ 10:37 AM. Sunday, April 26, 2009. North Lombard (at Denver).

PDX Breakfast Blog: March 2007

http://pdxbreakfastblog.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 24, 2007. 1400 SE Morrison St. The Crush menu consisted of a couple of breakfast cocktails, a few scrambles, and several omelet options. It was a difficult decision, but I decided to order the Rehab. Mandy also ordered the Rehab. And she agreed that it was pretty amazing. She had them throw in some mushrooms so that she could be slightly different than me. Kara went with the It’s All About The Baby. The lovely Katie and Sean also joined us for breakfast this morning. I was happy becau...

PDX Breakfast Blog: November 2006

http://pdxbreakfastblog.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, November 21, 2006. 1101 SE Division St. Ah, Genie’s. I have fond memories of venturing to Genie’s 4 or 5 years ago, but for some reason I had never returned until this past Sunday. It was a rainy morning, but that didn’t stop the Breakfast Mafia from enjoying the most important meal of the day. Genie’s seems to be known for its breakfast cocktail atmosphere. With a bar in the back room, and Black Sabbath’s Iron Man. And now for some pictures, as always. Anne - Buttermilk pancakes. I was excited ...

PDX Breakfast Blog: Cup & Saucer Café

http://pdxbreakfastblog.blogspot.com/2007/04/cup-saucer-caf.html

Tuesday, April 17, 2007. Cup and Saucer Café. Cup and Saucer Cafe. Okay, so I've already reviewed this particular Cup 'n Saucer, but it doesn't hurt to check for consistency of awesomeness, right? As I mentioned, Sara ordered corn cakes, or should I say corn CAKE, as one cake is definitely plenty! She gave it two thumbs up, wayyy up. I think I'm becoming somewhat of a predictable breakfast person. French toast, again? Well, I'm sorry but I've become a sucker for French toast on Challah bread (holllaaaa!

PDX Breakfast Blog: Home

http://pdxbreakfastblog.blogspot.com/2007/05/home.html

Monday, May 14, 2007. There's no place like home for breakfast, mmkay? Seriously. No waiting in lines, you get to wear your pajamas, and you don't have to brush your hair or your teeth. It's the best. Do you know what's also the best? My roommate's blueberry pancakes. No joke. She still claims that Utopia's. Blueberry pancakes are better, but I would say that she's being modest and they are tied for first. They are so delicious. What better way to wake up in the morning, y'know? Wait Time For Food:.

PDX Breakfast Blog: October 2006

http://pdxbreakfastblog.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 29, 2006. 3159 SE Belmont St. We arrived and Jay was able to grab a delicious cup of Madera fine roasted coffee while we waited outside. [Author note: I don't drink coffee (I know, sacrilege, right? But I will rate it when possible because I realize that a good cup of coffee can make or break a breakfast for most Portlanders.] We waited for about 30 minutes outside while listening to Chris Isaak wail along to. Kara and I both ordered the Southeast. However, I do not have any complaints.

Stay Critical Or Die. Monday, October 15, 2007. Spoon at First Avenue. Spoon played two shows last week in Minneapolis. I was able to get to both. Stay Critical Or Die. Thursday, October 05, 2006. Music is my boyfriend. Thanks to my Canadian friend, to whom I owe like seven CDs (and WILL send out. I swear.), I have discovered the wonder that is the Hidden Cameras. It happened like this:. I'm not sure when, but my Canadian friend sent me Ecce Homo. So, I had these albums on my computer, but unlistened to. Okay? Are you following this truly complex story? Fast forward about a month to Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning:. THE BAD ARTS: Back to it. Kind of.

http://thebadarts.blogspot.com/2007/07/back-to-it-kind-of.html

Stay Critical Or Die. Monday, July 02, 2007. Back to it. Kind of. I have long said that I prefer the Kinks to the Beatles. This has been my stance for years. However, lately, as my daughter grows more obsessed with the Beatles by the day (thanks daughter's dad) and I find myself listening to them more and more, I might have to change my mind. Maybe I have called myself a Kinks girl because everyone. Loves the Beatles, and I just have to be different (and difficult). Maybe I was in Beatles denial.

Twin Cities Breakfast: Butter

http://mspbrekkie.blogspot.com/2007/03/butter.html

Monday, March 12, 2007. Butter Bakery and Cafe. 3544 Grand Ave S. Minneapolis, MN 55408. Our first breakfast was at Butter. I had been wanting to try this place for breakfast for almost six months, since I went there for coffee with my brother and started salivating over every other patron's plates full of food while I sat there nursing my americano. So, on Sunday, breakfast (or as I always say: brekkie) was there. Rowan seemed to enjoy her oatmeal, though was disappointed that it was not a kid's oatmeal...

Sunday, March 25, 2007. Date: Sunday, March 18. Of food. Enough to be filled up for an entire day! I have never actually looked to see if they have a menu for brunch. They have a menu for other times of the day, but the brunch is an all-you-can eat buffet for $10.95 (and kids are free! Rowan was not with me at this meal, as she was with her dad and out protesting the war or something in lieu of eating. A radical at age 4! French toast (just okay). The best potatoes ever. You did this to me last year, too, with the release of arizona amp and alternator. At least this year, you had the sense to use your own name, but still. and, at least this time, i found out about it in advance. *sigh. of. relief.*. I'm anxiously awaiting the march 21 release date of 'sno angel like you. Or chore of enchantment. Or even a glum. Just didn't do it for me). Eef, front man...

Supper Seed: July 2011

http://supperseed.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Wednesday, July 13, 2011. So, onto the other meal we ate in Portland. There were no lunches, since the breakfasts were so huge. Even though we ate at a lot more breakfast spots than dinner places, the dinners we had were some of my favorite meals on our trip. Wonderful seasonal and local dishes. I got to try my first fiddlehead fern and huckleberries. Seemed like sort of a Portland version of our favorite restaurants in Madison. Great for grown-ups and kids. Fideos with spring vegetables and bacon. Matt ...

PDX Breakfast

Breakfast. Without waiting in line. What is this PDXBreakfast thing anyway? Posted in Breakfast Calendar. I love, love, love getting to check out new places. And Portland has obliged me with a brand new pancake place that is still in its soft opening stage. Batter, Grill And Drinkery. Is a new pancake place in the beaumont neighborhood.
