Monday, August 12, 2013. 9 – 10 August: It is Done. Cornish ME to Portland ME – 36 miles. We planned a short final day’s ride on Friday - from Cornish to Portland – patterning our last day after the final day of the Tour de France… mostly ceremonial with all the hard work complete. Tom’s son Peter and daughter-in-law Tracy drove up from NYC for the final day’s ride and were joined by our friend Steve Darnley, who lives in Portland. Saturday turned out to be even better. Rode in 12 states and two countries.

Thursday, August 1, 2013. 27 – 30 July: Wending our way back to the USA! From Fenelon Falls Ontario to Cranberry Lake, New York. We rode through the heart of Ontario into the lake region and into Marmora. The ride through the lakes and woods was very cool, but Marmora really has not much to recommend it. The motel was a 10 on the dive-o-meter, and the sidewalks were rolled up by 6:00 pm. Wolfe Island is cool…a mixture of old buildings and hundreds. Of new wind turbines. At least there was beer. Thursday, August 8, 2013. 8 Aug: Into Maine! Today the three amigos rode from Plymouth NH to Cornish ME. It was a humid day, and the first twenty miles was like going up and down stairs! Things evened out eventually, and we had a nice cruise into Cornish. How cool is it that we're finally in Maine! Let's see.that's 12 states and 1 country! This will be an epic end to an epic trip.
