Nature Nerding: Mount Tamalplais
http://naturenerding.blogspot.com/2015/04/mount-tamalplais.html
Wednesday, April 8, 2015. We headed to Mount Tamalplais state park for one more camping trip and discovered this gem of a campsite right by the sea. Well, actually they were out of campsites and we were forced to stay in a cabin. Cassia clapped with glee when we told her. The flowers were out in full bloom and I got busy with my camera. My love affair with California poppies continues. I nominate Pojar and Mackinnon. Plant guides organized by flower colour drive me batty. This kid is keen to climb. Simpl...

http://naturenerding.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Cassia in a Box. She loves this game. Monday, November 11, 2013. Spent some time mountain biking and beach combing on Hornby this summer. She doesn't always smile for the camera. Awesome community centre entrance. Exploring the sandstone down at Ford's Cove. Adorable and tame (unless you have a garden on Hornby). Bikes at the recycling depot/free store. We sold this very boat after a spring. We went cycle touring! Like, way back in August or something. Small, Medium, Large.

Nature Nerding: California
http://naturenerding.blogspot.com/2015/04/california.html
Wednesday, April 8, 2015. We headed south for an early taste of summer in late March. Isla enjoyed her first taste of sorrel. Sorrel and trilliums in the redwood forest. Isla loved La Boulange as much as the rest of us. It's San Fransisco's version of La Baguette. This kid cracks me up. Oh, it's so nice to see her climbing a tree. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Nature Nerding: July 2014
http://naturenerding.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 6, 2014. A week before my due date. I was carrying a lot lower this time round, which meant it would definitely be a boy. Labour is a lot more fun the second time around. Especially with these lovely ladies. Mom and a 1/2 day old Isla. Mom, I'm falling over here. Mom! Can you put the camera down and help me out? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Nature Nerding: January 2013
http://naturenerding.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 28, 2013. She's starting to dress herself. When it's not practical, it's at least very cute. Her new stroller - still a big hit over a month later. A shot of C's curls which we are hoping will stick around. PJ bear and Pippi go for a ride. On her new cross-country skis. And just starting to show signs of the fever that knocked her out for the next 24 hrs (including a blissful 4.5 hour nap on Boxing day). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Saturday, August 17, 2013. Thai curry ingredients (except the tomatoes). C chowing down on a 'mato'. My fave flower in the garden this year is the California poppies. Latin name is Eschscholzia. I had no idea you could put two 'sch's in a row. Botany BC was held in Revelstoke this year, so I finally got to attend. This was a seriously fun group of people to totally nerd out with. Large hats are mandatory. Canby's lovage ( Ligusticum canbyi. Fairy puke lichen ( Icmadophila ericitorum. Here's a last view o...

Nature Nerding: Yosemite
http://naturenerding.blogspot.com/2015/04/yosemite.html
Wednesday, April 8, 2015. We drove out to Yosemite. Google claimed it would take us 3 hrs 45 min. Google was so wrong. Six hours later (and not just because the kids needed to stop lots) we arrived. It was worth it. Either a ponderosa pine or a jeffrey pine, it's pretty hard to differentiate without seeing a cone. Happy hiker at Yosemite falls. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Nature Nerding: May 2014
http://naturenerding.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 28, 2014. I decided to learn how to crochet to keep me busy during my second pregnancy. I thought I might make a few hats or something, but then I spotted this quilt. And couldn't get it out of my head. Luckily we live in an age where you can learn just about everything thanks to the internet. I learned the basic stitches here. Then tried to follow a pattern to make a granny square. This totally failed, but luckily I found a great granny square video here. And this Klimtchen pattern. View ...
