I’m still trying to eat high protein meals! I’m not a massive Sunday roast fan, so instead I grilled myself a turkey burger, topped it with a pesto, a grilled mushroom and a poached egg and served it with a side of quinoa. 43g of protein for the whole meal and my first real attempt at poaching an egg! So much prettier than green smoothies! I’ve never really been much of smoothie fan – the few times I’ve tried them I made them with bananas and as much as I love bananas I just couldn’t bring myself to drink them! I didn’t want to give up completely so I decided to try again with frozen berries, and these are going down so much better! I’ve been drinking them for breakfast and they are so light, but so filling at the same time! 200ml milk – unsweetened soya milk for me. Noodles for dinner →. May 16, 2012.

This past week or so I seem to have a been eating a pretty high (for me) protein diet. I’m still getting in some good carbs when I need to – hello running! 8211; but for the most part I’ve really enjoyed my high protein week. My meals have all been pretty much the same so I’m going to start looking for new breakfast/lunch/snack ideas that pack a good protein punch! Pink smoothies have taken a back seat for the last couple of morning in favour of pink oats! It started last week when I didn’t have enough frozen raspberries on hand to make a decent smoothie so instead I just cooked them straight into bowl of porridge made with soya milk.
