Photography, Travel, Life. Pearls and plaid's Blog. At the beginning of the summer I took two courses under the title of “Art and Place”, one section was studio and the other was art history. These classes included a trip to Marfa in West Texas, which is an art mecca. It was a perfect intro to the class and is in my top five coolest places I’ve ever been! The landscape was incredible, the people were so nice, and there was art pretty much shoved in every nook and cranny! Chihuahuan Desert Research Center.
