Since Ekisa started we have gone through a handful of unmotivated Social Workers who were happy to sit idly by, while the numbers of children in our home increased instead of decreased. Visions clearly didn’t line up, and we let them go one by one, the new ones worse than the last. Something had to change. It’s mes...

Little Wonders: April 2015
http://estherslittlewonders.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 13, 2015. Waiting for Junior - Progress! Dare I even say: a leap? Ethiopian flags for Juniors birthday! They apparently decided that Junior's documents were so solid that they didn't even require an interview with a finder or police officer. And try to do so without turning into a sobbing mess? To be PAIR-ap...

Little Wonders: Introducing ...
http://estherslittlewonders.blogspot.com/2015/08/introducing.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. It is with our deepest joy and gratitude that we finally get to introduce to you our son. What our hearts have known for a long time, an Ethiopian judge made official yesterday morning and he became our son. An orphan no more. A child of the God Most High, and now finally . finally . after ALL this time, our precious and beloved child as well. When Bjorn got to the orphanage today, Nati saw him and started yelling: "Abate mah-ta" (My Daddy is coming! My Daddy is here! August 11...

The PhD Journey and other wafflings. Open-minded walking: Creating opportunities for inspiration to strike. July 3, 2015. But an opportunity to consciously relax all the same. After breakfast I took out my paper, began scribbling down the elements I wished to include in the chapter, packed my bag with laptop and books to take into Central Library after the talk and began the walk to the city centre with the all-important piece of paper clutched in my hand and a Dictaphone in my pocket.
