Peata has three types of membership. A Visiting Team of owner/handler and dog that visits a Caring Institution. A Caring Institution that receives our Pet Therapy Service i.e. visits from a Visiting Team. Supporting Members who want to support our work. Membership for all members costs 20 per annum. Membership payments run from January 1st to December 31st each year. New members joining after September 30th receive 3 months of free membership! Visiting Team Information leaflet.

Pets have long been shown to benefit our health and well-being, and Pet Therapy is being used worldwide to great effect in nursing homes, long-term hospitals, institutions for mentally and physically impaired, day care centres etc. Peata describes it as the use of companion animals to enhance the quality of life of people in Caring Institutions by visiting and interacting with them. He was one of the first Peata therapy dogs and was a resident of the Hospice in Harold’s Cross. The Benefits of Pet Therapy.
