The fog completely obscured even the closest waves, but we heard and smelled the ocean! Pictures and more words to come. August 15, 2012 at 4:32 PM. What an amazing journey. Coast to Coast, Pedal by Pedal. Shaughn and Jen's first adventure. Sunday, August 5, 2012. The elevation map for today's ride showed a long, gradual, uphill for just over 30 miles near the end of our day. We thought, no problem. Turned out to be hot, sunny, exposed, and started getting pretty windy by the end. But we made it to Mitchell with plenty of time before the store closed. Lots of cold drinks were consumed. Labels: First real clouds in many days- made for a nice sunset here in Mitchell.

We hit a lot of climbs and plenty of head wind. We were pretty exhausted entering Baker City around 6pm, but found a great pizza place and a campsite nearby with a hot tub. The first race for the team was the first Ontario Grand Prix race, which our sprinter, Alex Horvet, got second in the Juniors race! In the category races, we got 2 podiums!
