I was reluctant to lose the height clearance the van had gained by fitting larger wheels but I found the transporter on normal springs 'wallows' in corners and generally behaves like a van rather than a car. First off I cut out the inner upstanding panel from a piece of waste hardboard. It takes a while to get the upstanding panels right due to the curve on the side of the van and the ceiling. To remove the internal lights just pull down on the grey light surround; this pops the light off, unplug and remove. The long trims separating the ceiling panels just pull straight off. The grab handle needs a lot less persuading, simply pop the caps on the edges and unscrew the screws. Carpet and went about gluing it straight on.

OK guys, the latest is that Dolmen and Stuart insurance companies require 1.8m on the inside height of the van meaning a small van needs a popup or raised roof. The Motor Caravan Club will insure small vans BUT they echo the Revenue requirements of internal living space (see below). They will not insure a van with a rear kitchen.
