Immigrant is the new trendy place in Jakarta and, for once, it isn't just about marketing. Immigrant is a great nightlife spot in my opinion and a truly stylish one too. The location is perfect, with a superb panorama of Jakarta by night. The interior is spacious, in between X2. The crowd in Immigrant is upmarket, with many expats and executives. Techno club, good sound system. They have karaoke also. On their website they consider themselves as the biggest nightclub in the world, with 15,000 people capacity. It's not true though having spent some time inside to check the capacity. However, the billiard place is huge for sure. Somebody told me it used to be the place to get striptease in Jakarta. It is now close I think, or at least very empty but they have events there sometimes, like Phoenix concert in August. Phone : (62-21) 5140 2521.

Clearly a Temple in Jakarta's nightlife, Red Square is, along with BATS. Best night spot in Jakarta to party if you're single male, by far. Some prostitutes (more and more actually) but most girls aren't, so it is the bar where you should go if you want to score with sexy, yet "normal" girls. Sets you in when you listen to it. Great DJs came here, in particular Ame and Luciano, plus some Ibiza DJ such as DJ Pippy. It is currently hosting more and more international DJs, at least once a month or two. The owner of Stadium has a few other places, more specifically massage parlours and karaoke, namely Malioboro, Beverly Hills and Sumo. In the club the Play, they have a sort of live show with naked girls pretending to have sex, but you can only see the shadow. quite interesting. People call it the Aquarium . Alexis has become one of the most famous party place in Jakarta over the past 2-3 years, along with Stadium. Be sure to check the 7th floor. They have the mythical "Alexis Open Air Parties" that I've never been to, and I don't know if it is a regular event or not. Alexis Hotel, Play bar, Bathouse Spa, XiS Karaoke.

It is best on wednesdays. They also have international DJs quite frequently, and not the worst: David Guetta, Dubfire, Steve Angello and Ingrosso to name a few went there. It is quite similar to Blowfish. Waiters take ages to give back your change and seem to expect you to give them huge tips, as if 130,000 rp for a cocktail was not enough. be patient!
