The map so far. El fin del viagem. After almost 7 and a half months (223 days to be exact), I am now on my flight home from Ministro Pistarini International Airport in Buenos Aires, where I landed at the start of my trip. The 8 and a half hour flight home seems a walk in the park compared to the mammoth bus journeys I've been on over the past months, the longest of which was 31 hours.

We were pissing ourselves laughing because we could also hear them muttering stuff to each other and at one point it sounded like a bunk bed had toppled over, followed by silence and then exclamations – I pictured the two of them being like Mr Faulty and Manual. I think we pretty much laughed ourselves to sleep that night.

The map so far. 6 day trek through torres del paine. Day 1 - Puerto Natales to camp entrance, up to camping Torres. Day 2 - The Torres Del Paine and back down to Hosteria las Torres camp site. An hour or so later we looked out the tent and the clouds had cleared. The time to go up there was now. We hiked the 45 minute trail quite quickly and when we arrived it was spectacular! No need to state the obvious that the temerature on the glacier was icy, which prompted Anna to say the second great saying of the day, and something that in my seven years in England I had not heard before Shit the bed it's cold! The next morning we would board a bus to Puerto Natales, the base for doing the very famous Torres del Paine National park trek.
