Peeking into the Past: Wordless Wednesday~Riggs Family
http://peekingintothepast.blogspot.com/2011/07/wordless-wednesdayriggs-family.html
Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Wordless Wednesday Riggs Family. I haven't even started sharing about my Riggs line yet, my maternal grandma's family. When I recently found this photo online that includes Grandma as a baby and her parents and grandparents, I was almost speechless! In a giddy way of course. I calculate the photo taken in 1915, since Ernest's brother Clifford turned 21 that year. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Peeking into the Past: December 2012
http://peekingintothepast.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 17, 2012. This is a new type of post for my blog, and I know I have been absent from the blog for awhile, I'm still digging and discovering new things though! As you can see, the little wooded area where the cemetery is located is surrounded by modern life. It is snuggled in between a motel, what used to be a restaurant, a medical lab, doctors offices, then in the back, a new housing development. The small wooded patch as it looks from the back of the former restaurant. Died Sept 1889 (?

Thursday, June 28, 2012. I know I have neglected this page, there are just so many things going on in life. I still do plenty of research, I had just let this blog slip away. But what I found yesterday I think is worth sharing, since I know there are lots of other Riggs' descendants out there in this big, small world. Early and Civil History. Page 667- Douglas Township. Previous to Bruning and Ames’ settling on the Platte, they had made a selection on Grand River, and started from Missouri for thei...

Peeking into the Past: January 2012
http://peekingintothepast.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 31, 2012. William Morgan and Rebecca Mills. As with the previous couple, I have not very much documentation on this one either but, also like the previous couple, most researchers seem to agree (somewhat) with dates, places and names. Until I find more records to validate dates and places, this is also incomplete data and should not be mistaken for absolute fact. That is from the following site: http:www.newrivernotes.com/va/swift/newgarden marriages.html. This marriage, and William's de...

the women dont wait
Monday, September 06, 2010. A 10-year-old boy walked up to the counter of a soda shop and climbed onto a stool. He caught the eye of the waitress and asked, how much is an ice cream sundae? Fifty cents, the waitress replied. the boy reached into his pockets, pulled out a handful of change, and began counting. The waitress frowned impatiently. After all, she had other customers to wait on. The boy squinted up at the waitress. how much is a dish of plain ice cream? I wrote a song for the nightingale. Based...

peeking into the peaks
Peeking into the peaks. Musings of j.r.peaks. Thursday, February 18, 2010. 1 peter 1.13-25. So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that’s coming when Jesus arrives. Don’t lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn’t know any better then; you do now. That’s why the prophet said,. The old life is a grass life,. Its beauty as short-lived as wildflowers;. Grass dries up, flowers droop,. Friday, October 30, 2009.
