Since moving to Oxford I have designed and delivered three courses to the MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing. Practical Numerical Analysis: this course is an introductory numerical analysis course and covers floating point arithmetic, interpolation, quadrature, rootfinding, spectral and finite difference discretisations, and geometric multigrid. I was born in Galway, Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day, 1985. I studied for my Bachelor’s degree in pure mathematics (mainly group theory) at the National University of Ireland, and for my PhD in computational mathematics in the Applied Modelling and Computation Group. At Imperial College London. After working as a postdoc there, I won an EPSRC Early Career Research Fellowship (5 3 years) and moved to the Mathematical Institute of the University of Oxford.
