At Peggy's Necessities we make clothing for the middling sort of person, not rich, not poor: those who made up the vast majority of British people in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. As most of our customers are involved in the recreation of the Thirty Years' War and the English Civil Wars, we tend to concentrate on this period, 1618 to 1652. We usually carry stocks of our most popular items and sizes.

During this period a woman's outfit consisted of a smock, stockings, a corset usually referred to as a "paire of bodies", a petticoat and a waistcoat.
