Voices From The Wilderness. A blog to share your thoughts. Friday, September 5, 2014. September is the month that foreshadows the promise of waiting in expectant faith. Unlike January that urges us to make unreasonable resolutions, the autumn season carries in the air the excitement of a life full of hope. Since nature declares the glory of God, maybe September can teach us something about faith. The Apostle Paul explains it this way."What is faith? Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Voices From The Wilderness. A blog to share your thoughts. Saturday, January 3, 2015. GIVE GOD YOUR PAINTBRUSH. Did you know that before one stroke of color is applied to a painting the canvas must be prepared and made ready for the process? This New Year each of us has the opportunity to begin again as a blank canvas in God's hands, ready to be made new. Think of Jesus as the sizing that protects you when fear and discouragement are beating down your door. "Do not be afraid I am with you! My first non-f...

Voices From The Wilderness. A blog to share your thoughts. Sunday, February 8, 2015. Our bodies are a lot like a city and the circulatory system is the superhighway that keeps our metropolis running. Blood is the vehicle that transports life giving oxygen and nutrients to its destination. If these highways are blocked our vessels stop working. Thankfully we know what it takes to keep our bodies healthy so we try to exercise, eat right, and have regular check ups. 1 John 1:9 draws a spiritual parallel.

Inside the gardens of the Hampton Court Palace grows the world's oldest and largest grape vine. The plant began as a small cutting and was planted in the castle gardens around 1768 where it is still growing strong today. This amazing plant is known world wide as the "Great Vine.". So what makes this extraordinary? A branch does not grow fruit for itself but for others. On the last night Jes...

Voices From The Wilderness. A blog to share your thoughts. Monday, April 21, 2014. Unlike my dad's stories where we were given the expertise needed to win each challenge, life demands we work hard to develop the necessary skills to live well and finish strong. There are no free rides on the way to life's finish line. The bible uses an interesting analogy to demonstrate the life of a real champion. Race that you may win the prize.". We are champions. Run to win. Scripture reading 1 Corinthians 9:24-27.

Voices From The Wilderness. A blog to share your thoughts. Sunday, July 27, 2014. For the past decade, Japanese farmers have been growing square watermelons. They say the process to alter the shape of fruit is simple. When the melons are small on the vine, a square acrylic box is placed around it. It simply adjusts to its environment and takes on the unnatural shape of the box. Scripture Reading: Isaiah 43; 21. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Voices From The Wilderness. A blog to share your thoughts. Wednesday, March 5, 2014. GOD DOES NOT MAKE JUNK. Did you know that listening to 30 minutes of negativity and criticism will damage neurons in your brain causing physical and emotional problems that can last a lifetime. Some scientists believe we need to experience at least three positive reinforcements to counteract one negative remark. So who said, "words will never hurt me? The good news.it is a proven fact that we can change our thoughts,...

Say to the breath and spirit: 'Thus said the Lord God: Come, O breath from the four winds, and breathe into those slain that they may breathe again." The entire valley, stood before him, a vast multitude. Or in modern terms, 'can anything be done with this mess I've made of my life? Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Voices From The Wilderness. A blog to share your thoughts. Wednesday, May 6, 2015. LESSONS FROM NATURE.Deep Roots. After the long winter we finally had a beautiful warm weekend. It felt like I walked out my door into the Land of Oz. Overnight our back yard burst open with emerald green grass, colorful spring flowers and fresh budding trees. Suddenly, I was delighting in warm sunshine, sporting bare legs, wearing my favorite flip flops, and sipping herbal tea on a lounge chair. I'll give you strength, I'll...
