1741年，所謂之「八塊厝」分別為「莊頭」、「莊尾」、「稻埕頭」、「連城」、「舊城」、「城外」、「公館」、「租倉」，其詳細地址多已無法確定，僅知「莊頭」在今八德國小之西，為唐山旺所建；「莊尾」在莊頭之北，三元宮之西；「連城」乃邱、廖二姓所居，為兩幢堡壘型相連之房屋，今村北長興路上尚有連城橋之名，茄苳溪經此一段稱連城溪；「城外」即今農會旁；「租倉」...1745年閩、粵移民自南部北移至此，居住下來的有八姓，即謝、蕭、邱、呂、賴、黃、吳、李姓，每姓各築一屋，故得「八塊厝」之名。1936年改名『八德』。而後經多次行政區域改革，於1995年正式升格為 八德市. 訂閱： 文章 (Atom).
