Being Creative | Start Close In

Skip to primary content. Start Close In — The poem by David Whyte. October 19, 2012. When I was a little girl, through my teens, and as a young mom, I used to make things; lots of things! From drawing to sewing to embroidery and to pretty much anything that caught my interest I’d DO it. I never wondered much about what other people thought about my projects, unless they were gifts, but everyone seemed to enjoy them. I always thought of myself as a creative type. I signed up for a class on paper marbling!

Skip to primary content. Start Close In — The poem by David Whyte. October 19, 2012. This is my first weekly post of what I hope you’ll find to be juicy tidbits of this and that and that you’ll come back to visit! Since I’m feeling a bit bookish today, surrounded by books in my office/sacred space including the book I made my very own self! I thought I’d share this quote from Carl Sagan:. Oh yes, I surely am a book person! Photo by stock.xchng}. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Blog at WordPress&#...

Spaces | The Not So Fancy Life

The Not So Fancy Life. It May Get Messy But It Will All Work Out. Skip to primary content. April 15, 2011. That’s my childhood home in Skokie. It didn’t feel very homey. I guess it’s best just to call it a house. These were some tight quarters. But it didn’t feel crowded. We were all in a separate spaces. Mom, dad, sister and me. Four silos in a bi-level box. My sister and I fought like all siblings do. It seemed natural. Normal. But at some point I began to sense the loneliness. Was it junior high?

The Not So Fancy Life. It May Get Messy But It Will All Work Out. Skip to primary content. April 17, 2011. I guess this is my way of bringing my “About” page to life, or to simply expand upon it. My name is Nancy. I am 46, married, and have 6-1/2-year-old twin boys. This is what I look like as of a couple of days ago:. Here is the avatar I used on Twitter and currently use on Tumblr:. Does it matter what I look like? But, essentially, it’s still me. The real me. But what if you put up a photo of a strang...

Words Once Spoken: Thoughts she can't help thinkin'
http://words-once-spoken.blogspot.com/2012/09/thoughts-she-cant-help-thinkin.html
Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Thoughts she can't help thinkin'. I started most of this post as an "About this Blog" sidebar, but then it got completely out of hand. Yet as I read through it (edited, deleted, edited some more and then deleted more), it dawned on me that this was probably a good start to introducing myself to you, my reader(s). Ha, ha.yes, I know. Plural is wishful thinking at this point. Bit more about me and what makes me tick (as in *tick* like a time bomb). Well, a little. On days when ...

Words Once Spoken: I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
http://words-once-spoken.blogspot.com/2012/09/i-know-someday-youll-have-beautiful-life.html
Wednesday, September 26, 2012. I know someday you'll have a beautiful life. I don't think anyone who knows me would argue that I am a dreamer. Some may go as far as to say I'm a fantasist. And a small few who are closest to me would say I’m completely delusional (but that's a whole other topic). Here’s the thing…I am rapidly approaching my forty-first birthday, and while not a monumental year, I feel it's time that I finally begin to lay the foundation of a plan. A plan for a complete life change. I know...

Words Once Spoken: Plan B
http://words-once-spoken.blogspot.com/2012/09/plan-b.html
Friday, September 7, 2012. Since I just can't get myself to write in that pretty journal. I picked up in Siena this summer, I decided to make a "Target run" today. I didn't quite settle for those utilitarian composition books some suggested, but I have a feeling this one will do the trick. I am shamefully behind on my Blogging from the Heart lessons. Well, at least the part of the lessons that require actually writing. I've been reading and watching and thinking. Labels: Blogging from the Heart. You will...
