PPost I love you. To expose mind’s hidden stories—to make them real and permanent. To explore the weight of words—both big and small. To stamp my voice on the palimpsest of history. To maintain the beautiful language—its sound, structure, and power. Friendship, food, imagery, and style are all extensions of that language. Quotidian notions made somehow significant by the words. Penelope Post Blog: April 2015
http://penelopepost.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 25, 2015. Reconnecting with me, myself and I. I stopped pumping last week. If you've ever had the pleasure, or the displeasure as the case may be, to attach yourself on the regular to the machine that squeezes the milk out of your breasts like cattle, then you know it often feels like a degrading ball and chain. It's a love/hate thing, because it's also the reason I was able to work full-time and still breastfeed Angus. On the upside, giving up the pump means regaining a little piece of m...

Well, hello there! It's been a while, eh? I abandoned my blog. It seemed redundant to write about my life when I now live right next door to the people I originally wrote for. but at the prodding of those loved and dear ones, I've decided to resume. Her work bench is like a fantasy come to life: laces, ribbons, antique buttons, chains, every sort of odd and end you could ever dream of to make the most wonderful accoutrements. I was in heaven. I took a walk. A gentleman who had waited patiently behind for me to finish entered the frame. I took a picture as he walked away. I walked further and found a diorama on the sidewalk. It said "all stumps go to heaven". My very favorite Portland, ME memory involves my good old friend, Loren K. Crayons. Cerulean and Sepia? That was the last time I lived in Maine, near Portland, which is the town that the town that I live in is named after. Was a wonderful month. I met Sapphire. I spent some much-n...I am ...

I now have two orchids living in my house. Brian has an aversion to cut flowers, and so has begun a tradition of living plants as gifts. The first one we had to leave in L.A. with his mother, it wouldn't have survived the trip up north. So now I have V-day and Easter 09 lounging in my living room. I'm thinking that this entry is the perfect introduction to my rearranging the living room. I'll take pictures. In the forest, everything came alive in one week. We had a few hot days and now everything is ...

My good friend Melodie sent me a package. In it was a jar of this year's blueberry jam, from the berries out in back of the the log house that her husband built and that they live in. She packed it in pretty paper and sprinkled dried flowers and sent it in a cloth-covered box. It made my week. There's a brook in the back. Hungry? Here's an apple tree, and my friend is making tofu scramble with cumin cumin cumin! 2008 Showacre Blueberry Jam: spoon on top of coconut sorbet for an amazing treat. As the days...

I got a job. This is monumental for a few reasons. 1: It took so long. 2: The irony of who has deemed me worthy of employment. A computer store. Anyone who knows me at all will remember that I only recently got email and a cell phone. I've never bought a computer in my life, I've been lucky enough to inherit hand-me-downs from the people who love me and never needed anything more than that. In fact, I've quite often shunned the computal elements. Needless to say, I'm not exactly qualified. BUT, I do.

In other news, I finished the quilt! I actually finished it last week, but didn't want to post about it until Emmy received it. So now that she has, here is the finished product. Href="http:/ 2.bp.blogspot.com/ wa7S6ZvKZQM/SgJjpaow3NI/AAAAAAAAANg/uvhWky3s-uo/s1600-h/DSCN2559.jpg". I'm very proud of how it came out, especially since I'm pretty sure I broke every rule of quiltmaking in the process. Brian and I went to a show last weekend. It was totally spontanious and totally FUN! I took some pictures.

April brings flowers, they're everywhere. The trees look like pink cream puffs and the ground is speckled with yellows, reds, whites. In the forest, everything came alive in one week. We had a few hot days and now everything is bright and thick and green. The forest floor is wound tight with vines and little purple flowers. And now, my favorite forest flower after lady's slipper and jack-in-the-pulpit: the trillium has sprung. Oh yeah, Fistula. Emma and Kevin Kouri. Kevin was thrilled to throw it in the ...

What is up with the blogging. I keep looking and it is stale. ". Papa wrote to say that he's been checking my blog and it is stale. I can't deny that I have been very lazy about it or that I have not felt particularly inspired. So, I'll write about one thing in my life that is constant, rarely changes, and I share with my father: coffee. Or "coffeeyah" as Papa so lovingly refers to it. Was I born into it? Iced cappuccino, it does exist! They roast their coffee fresh on-site every morning, and throughout ...

Pursuing God in Love :: Home
Pursuing God in Love. Complex, painful experiences of failed relationships touches most of us at one time or another. When they do, they cloud our perception of the very meaning of love. Love, in its purest form, was announced with a sacrifice. God so loved that He gave. His love is constant, undeterred, compassionate, and forgiving. The very essence of sacrificial love offered with no strings. I want to pursue that kind of love and share it with others. American Christian Fiction Writers.
