Sewelle: November 2015
http://sewelle-noelle.blogspot.com/2015_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 29, 2015. Last week saw my last day of work for the year. I don't go back until February! I seriously love my job as a flute teacher- it's fun, rewarding, and allows me to spend heaps of time with my children. My kids go to a public school so they still have two more weeks until their holidays, so I've been using my time to sew Christmas gifts. I also made her a cute little pair of shorts using this adorable print I found on EBay. I think it's Timeless Treasures. The pattern is B...It's ...

Sewelle: Red wool 1960s outfit
http://sewelle-noelle.blogspot.com/2016/08/red-wool-1960s-outfit.html
Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Red wool 1960s outfit. Did anyone catch Season 4 of The Great British Sewing Bee? I downloaded it and watched in on my iPad and fell in love with Jade's little cropped jacket in the 60s Week pattern challenge. I discovered this was the pattern she used:. I couldn't find the pattern for sale anywhere, so searched eBay for something similar. I had no luck at all! It is fully lined to the edges, and therefore is completely reversible. The arms are pulling up a bit due to the ...

Miss Maddy Sews a Thing or Two – Part II – Miss Maddy Sews

Adventures in sewing and fashion. Miss Maddy Sews a Thing or Two – Part II. July 2, 2015. July 3, 2015. Round two of last Summer’s makes! When I made that first cotton circle skirt, it was actually something of a wearable muslin for this project – the satin circle skirt! Pleased with the success of said cotton skirt, I bravely went ahead with three metres of one of the most notoriously difficult fabrics to sew to try and replicate my success. And I don’t think I did too badly! I specifically decided to m...

What a brilliant response I’ve received so far – thanks to everyone who has read the blog so far, liked my post or clicked follow! I’m still not sure how often I’ll be posting, as my double life as a med student is pretty demanding, but I’ll try to put something up at least as often as I finish a project. I’m the only one who has it! 8216;s circle skirt app. All you need...

Learning to sew in your 40s. The Seamworks Astoria, Mark II. July 22, 2015. August 26, 2015. I LOVE this top, in fact I’d go as far as to say it’s possibly my favourite make to date! 🙂 While I didn’t get it right first time around, I knew Colette’s Astoria. Was worth a second attempt: this time in the right. Size and in a beautiful fabric I treated myself to with some of my marking pay. Online shop. It certainly wasn’t cheap, but so, so. I ordered in my Summer Holiday #Sundaysevens. Impression my previo...

Learning to sew in your 40s. April 29, 2015. I love it when this happens! Originally 75, this was reduced to 50, and then 25. But seriously, that was a big hole, two of them in fact! The shop assistant was obviously amazed that I was prepared to buy it at all, asking me incredulously: ‘you have noticed the big hole in the front, haven’t you? 8217; Well, doh! 8216;I can sew…’ I replied, fairly. The sleeves made me do it! The peplum must be a bit of a scrapper. From a distance it looks just fine. I fig...

Learning to sew in your 40s. MeMadeMay, The Home Straight! May 31, 2015. May 31, 2015. Anyone else about to breathe a sigh of relief that it’s over? While I enjoyed the idea and the start of MMMay. This year, boy did the weather make it far more difficult than it should have been… So, the final straight? Here we go…. Was a bank holiday here in the UK. I dug out my original BHL Polly. And back to the marking piles. This Tilly and the Buttons Megan dress. Time for the knits to come out! I love it here🙂 Fo...

Colours & Things: February 2013
http://coloursandthings.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Feb 15, 2013. Blue Mountains, NSW. Lately I have been collecting adventures. It's a lot like collecting stamps or buttons, only perhaps a little more interesting to general society. My latest adventure was a visit to the Blue Mountains - the perfect place to find that important sense of perspective that we all occasionally lose. Echo Point, Katoomba. Three Sisters, Katoomba. Most commonly known these days as the author and illustrator of The Magic Pudding. How many lives has your. Feb 2, 2013. It didn't ...
