The Rest is Noise. Wednesday, April 9, 2008. I was very sad to hear of the passing of Robert Fagles. A wonderful scholar and translator - one of my favorites - of the Iliad. Here is an excellent interview. With Princeton Classicist Denis Feeney on Fagles and the art of translation. Raphs by Marc Chagall. And the Old Testament. His whimsical, etherial style seems wonderfully appropriate to these little sketches of Hom. Er's epic, and really brings out the domestic, p. Saturday, April 5, 2008.

The Rest is Noise. Saturday, April 5, 2008. I've been writing my thesis in recent weeks so apologies for the long hiatus. I'm back with the long-promised look at Oscar Wilde's famous novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray. I'm applying to PhD's in Comparative Literature next semester and indeed, my. Mind seems drawn to it. As I was reading Dorian Gray, I began to think about more contemporary studies of similar themes. What have I concluded? The movie Fight Club. April 7, 2008 at 3:19 AM.

Thursday, January 31, 2008. Facebook inbox, feed me something good to eat. Remember when facebook messages were actually from friends and on occasion, unwelcomed stalkers? Actually, as I write this, I can recall a few mass messages that I actually enjoyed reading. One of which was for the upcoming Pilam event on Feb 9. Hmm, I guess there are two take-aways from this post. 1 send more hellos. (hellos from strangers [even ugly people] are welcome). If you can clean up this punctuation, tell me how. Newslet...
Affabillyty: Yahoo!'s place in a Google world

Saturday, February 23, 2008. S place in a Google world. I'm not ashamed to admit it: my default homepage is set to Yahoo! No, not google. Yahoo! Unlike my fellow collegians who have welcomed Google with open arms, I've remained cautious, even unwilling at times, to join the Google bandwagon. Call it a virtual comfort zone if you will, but Yahoo! Was there to provide me, and my hormones, with answers. In that era of chats and searches, online games and emails, I was on team Yahoo! The highly coveted onlin...

The Rest is Noise. Sunday, March 16, 2008. Some thoughts on the new Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art,. Which I recently saw with my friend Billy. Has never been my favorite artist, but I have always felt a certain power in her paintings, an undeniable brilliance, perhaps a bit too obvious for my tastes. However, I was very interested in seeing this exhibit to learn more about both her life and her work. Monday, March 10, 2008. Which will be the subject of my next Book Watch post.
Affabillyty: The secret of magnets
http://affabillyty.blogspot.com/2008/02/secret-of-magnets.html
Monday, February 11, 2008. The secret of magnets. Today I stirred, what will hopefully be my last, bout of blog-related drama. My last post was, apparently, more controversial than I intended. Since I'm not, nor ever want to be, in the business of hurting people, I've done my best to remove that post from the hyperlinked tomes of the internet. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed about offending the parties involved (as I know they were) so I'd just like to extend, once more, my sincerest apologies.
