The Steam Engines of the Appalachian Rail Company. The ARC has 20 2-8-4's built by Lima from 1939-1942. They are one of their best classes of steam locomotives and can lead trains even on the PAIS system. The ARC has 15 4-6-6-4's built by Alco in the early '40's. They are primarily used in heavy pulling service in West Virginia.
