Penstrokes

Saturday, August 15, 2015. Days 221 - 227, An Art "journal". Monday and day 222. And in-service. I was fairly tired this afternoon, but worked for a while on the New to Me challenge. I used arnia and amphora for the new tangles that begin with the letter A. Then I used stitch and sandswirl for tangles by the artist Karry Heun. Fun! I put the finishing touches on my classroom door! Aren't my kids precious? Tonight at Open House the parents just loved it. Great for day 223. And I got to meet my kiddos!

Penstrokes: December 2014

http://www.penstrokesbycathy.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Monday, December 29, 2014. 2014's Last Inchie and Journal Pages 48, 50, and 52. Our last word for Every Inchie Monday was "magical". I have some beautiful scrapbooking paper with fairies and dragons and all sorts of magical things. I found a fairy that just about fit an inch. So I cut her out and then embellished her with glitter gel pens. Now, I only have . . . uh, a few . . . well actually twelve pages to do. Before Friday. Yeah, right. Not going to happen. But I...The big SIXTY. Ouch! Next year for Jo...

Penstrokes: Days 217 - 220, Officially summer has ended

http://www.penstrokesbycathy.blogspot.com/2015/08/days-217-220-officially-summer-has-ended.html

Saturday, August 8, 2015. Days 217 - 220, Officially summer has ended. Was the first day of teacher in-service. Long hours of meetings and more hard labor than I have done all summer. By the end of the day, exhaustion had set in. Not to mention weary feet and legs. On the bright side, I have two very nice bulletin boards to show for my day! I really wanted to do Adele Bruno's string challenge. The string was just too cute to pass up. And decided to just color. Very zen. Very peaceful. I am so...Sorry to ...

Sunday, April 26, 2015. Day 116 - Shell. Every Inchie Monday's word this week is shell. I used to have some teeny tiny seashells some child gave me and now they are no where to be seen! I wanted to use those. Oh well, back to the scrapbooking supplies. I hope you are having a great Sunday afternoon! Thank you for stopping by. Please take a moment to look at my Penstrokes store. Also I would love it if you would share this with your friends. Days 113 - 115. For my Day 113. Wednesday, April 22, 2015. I dre...

Penstrokes: June 2015

http://www.penstrokesbycathy.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 28, 2015. Okay It is no secret to anyone who knows me, I love pens. I have a serious pen addiction, buying any interesting ones I see. But I suppose there are worse things to be hung up on, right? It is an interesting site and worth a visit. The first set of pens I looked at was the Slider Memo XB. Is the next in the photo. It is a very nice pen. Pretty basic (where did hear that? Compared to the rest, but still a nice value for the money. I did find that if I left it sitting (capped of ...

Penstrokes: EcoStatic product review

http://www.penstrokesbycathy.blogspot.com/2015/07/ecostatic-product-review.html

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Remember when static cling was used referring to a problem with your petticoat? Maybe not, but it was. As a young girl I remember fighting that menace. Oh well, that was another story. . . Today's product is chock full of "static cling" and it is a good thing. Several weeks before being asked to review this, I saw it on pinterest. My first thoughts were that if it worked it would be a great thing o use in my classroom. Then I was asked to do a review and yahoo! Are just as cool!

Monday, November 24, 2014. 2 Inchies in One, and a Gift for a Friend. I missed last weeks post because I got a bit of a stomach bug. Actually, the whole house got the stomach bug! It was not a pretty site at all. LOL. So last week over at Every Inchie Monday. The theme was Weapon. I really loved all the great ideas that everyone came up with. So diverse and creative! This weeks theme is X-Axis. Wow that brought back a lot of college math that I vowed to never remember! LOL Hope you like it. And check out...

Freebird's Innovations: January 2015

http://freebirdsinnovations.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 26, 2015. I really, really love this theme this week over at Every Inchie Monday. Talking is what I do; and let me tell you I do it WELL! LOL If you ask my Mom, I came out talking and have not shut up since! Most babies will start to babble around 4 or 5 months old and parents are always big smiles when this happens. I know I was when my kids started doing it, just as I am sure you all were. The man's eye grow big and he looks to my Mom and asks, "Did she? Did she just say that? Now, onto...

Monday, July 27, 2015. I Wish It Would Rain. Thanks for stopping by Freebird's Nest. I hope that you are all hydrating, staying in the shade and enjoying as much AC as you can. Todays temps were around 98 degrees and the heat index was 105! Needless to say I stayed inside and played with my beads. I know, I know it was a sacrifice but you know, somebody had to do it! This week over at Every Inchie Monday. So that was my inspiration for this weeks inchie. Also this week over at 2x2x2. Here in Arkansas it ...

Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Thanks for stopping by! I know the title is not exciting, LOL. Sometimes it is hard to think of something cool to title the blog. But I could lame it on the fact that I have a horrible cold right now. Yea, that is the reason, ;). This week's theme over at Every Inchie Monday. Is Oak and that makes me breathless, teary-eyed and itchy! So without further ado here is the only tree that I can not kill and it wont kill me. LOL. And check out the rest of the Oak trees. Now, over at Eve...

Monday, August 17, 2015. I See the Light.err Lamp. Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by. I hope that everyone is enjoying the fact that school is back in session. I know I am enjoying it! This week over at Every Inchie Monday. This inchie used 7 colors of delicas. Five of which were transparent. I like transparent colors but sometimes they get washed out by the thread and the clear colors. But I added them to this inchie because I was hoping that they would look like stained glass. I used some beads...

Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Veggie-Tables and Christmas Ornaments. The theme this week over at Every Inchie Monday. Is vegetable. So, of course, with my love of the color orange I had to do a carrot. It was not until about an hour ago that it dawned on me that with this time of year I should have done a pumpkin. Oh well, I do like how the carrot came out. This week I got 3 ornaments done. I really love how they are coming out. Did I mention that I have to make 16 ornaments? Monday, October 20, 2014.

Monday, July 20, 2015. Energy Inchie and some fun food. Hiya everyone, thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog today. This week over at Every Inchie Monday. The theme is Energy. I had an immediate idea for this one. My first thought was something that came from my visits back to my home town. Here are a couple of pictures my daughter took while we were driving. Aren't they cool? So with that, here is my inchie. I used 6 colors of delicas. I hope that you like it. This is Peanut Butter and Jelly (...

This week over at Every Inchie Monday. The theme is Enjoy. So for me I thought about what I would enjoy doing someday. I would really love to go up in a hot air balloon. Monday, August 31, 2015. Necklaces, Ornaments and Challenges. Hiya everyone and thanks for stopping by. This week I have been so sore and tired! I think it has to do with the start of the changing of the weather. My shoulder has been in so much pain this week and of course my knee has been angry at me this week, more on that later. Also, I think that work has been beating me up as well! I have to be accountable to someone so I am writing it here. This week over at Every Inchie Monday. Makes me so mad, lo...

Living Well and Happy

I once was young and now I'm old, but I have never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging bread. Friday, January 26, 2018. God cares for small prayers. God answered a small prayer for me today. I had a large box of photo matte paper I had gotten from work. The paper was high quality, 4ft. by 4 ft. I only wanted four sheets, but had to take the entire box. I had set it outside with a big “FREE MATTE PAPER”. I smiled, and thanked God. He really does care about even the small details of my life.
