PENS WITHOUT INK

Wednesday, January 8, 2014. A Reader's Perspective, by Taylor Novak-Bultema. As a writer, you must be confident that you are able to paint a picture in the imagination of each and every reader. If four different people read “When she walked into the room she was surprised”, will each of them see the same expression on her imaginary face? Will they all feel the same form of surprise as she is meant to? Are they excited because they are energetic or eager? Well, that changes everything completely. At t...

PENS WITHOUT INK: Tweeting Authors (not to be confused with authors who tweet)

http://www.penswithoutink.blogspot.com/2013/05/tweeting-authors-not-to-be-confused.html

Saturday, May 4, 2013. Tweeting Authors (not to be confused with authors who tweet). I've had a growing.habit as of late. I read a book, adore it and then hunt the writer down on Twitter (my stalker media site of choice), and then send them a little tweet. Just a harmless, you-are-the-best-writer-and-I-love-everything-you-do-and-want-to-be-you-when-I-grow-up, tweet. It's one writer to another writer, so it's not weird. Right? I have a solution! PENS WITHOUT INK: NaNoWriMo Snippets: Dave's

http://www.penswithoutink.blogspot.com/2013/02/nanowrimo-snippets-daves.html

Friday, February 22, 2013. The mercenaries packed up, and headed back for the Lord's camp, weary from the battle. I felt like I had been fighting for weeks, though the battle lasted only the night. Eugene came over to speak to me, a smile across his tired features. “Oy, Connell, good arm out there. You fought well.”. I looked at the ground. “I never knew killing someone would feel so. awful.”. 8221;, I asked. “Why? My face went white, and cold. Nine? I only killed one. As I write this, I still don't ...

PENS WITHOUT INK: Remember the "choose your own adventure books"?

http://www.penswithoutink.blogspot.com/2013/05/remember-choose-your-own-adventure-books.html

Saturday, May 11, 2013. Remember the "choose your own adventure books"? Where did all the choose your own adventure books go? I had this little bookie flashback when I was browsing the limited novel section in Walmart and noticed a bundled set of books with a fantastic yetti on the cover. Apparently, CYOAs are making a come back. Okay, not really, but they so could. This lead to two questions, how should I write one now, and could I make it interesting enough to want to be read. Not that kind of hook up.

When Pen and Paper Meet. From November 'till Now. Nanowrimo went alright. I didn't finish but I did get a good start on a novel I'm not sure I want to finish. #win. I've been struggling a lot with working up the courage to just turn in my final edits. Of course that would mean I'd have to do my final edits, but I'm working on that this weekend. Which, yes, it is Sunday but I also have Monday off. Or splitting it up like the outlines are currently written. The outlines I have are going to be amazing to wr...

When Pen and Paper Meet. Mrs Wilson, where you been? Around the world, now I'm back again! Ok, not really. That's a Lil' Wayne quote. But here's the dealio: Finished my novel in Febuary, graduated from college in July, got married in August, landed a sweet freelance job in September with hyperinkpress.com, then got a second job at a music store in Ocotber. That's what I've been up to in a nutshell. I almost forgot, I got a guinea pig, whom I ADORE, nammed Fitzgerald Darcy. When Pen and Paper Tumble.

When Pen and Paper Meet. Charitable genus or over zealous soliciting? My roommate today brought up "The Giving Pledge" while I was putting tremendous effort and while simultaneously reaping little benefit as I struggled my way through the wii fit obstacle course game. I would think it very likely that she was trying to distract me from obliterating her previously achieved scores, if the truth wasn't that I still had yet to even finish a level on that particular game. I've thought about it and if I could ...

When Pen and Paper Meet. Bad dancer but good bacon provider. Bad dancer but good bacon provider. By Nicole E. Avery. Never in my life have I seen anything as awkward as Kate Gosselin lumbering across a dance floor. I was sucked in to watching "Dancing with the Stars" again this season - similar to the other thousand viewers - due to ABC's promised star lineup. Even if Kate doesn't have her dance routines figured out yet, she definitely has the role of a good mom down pat. I never use to believe this, but...
