In fact, the room is decked out with lots of 'products': gel, hairspray, lotion, perfume, cologne, etc. Luckily, I took a second look at this before I applied it to my hair thinking it was hair spray. A tale of travel, tastes, and adventure! Monday, 14 March 2011. Recently, we celebrated Thaipusam here in Malaysia. It's a Hindu celebration observed mainly by the Tamil community. In Kuala Lumpur, the place to view the action is the Batu Caves. Observers pay their respects by shaving their heads and making a pilgrimage to the temple. Most carry a vessel of milk as their 'burden' but the more extreme practice mortification of the flesh (! And pierce their skin, tongue, and cheeks. Links to this post.

A tale of travel, tastes, and adventure! Thursday, 15 December 2011. Korea Dusk til Dawn. Mr Happy made the decision to attend a conference in Seoul recently and I was lucky enough to chaperone him! I polled friends on what we should do, see and eat while we were there so I had a to do list I wanted to attack. The tricky thing about South Korea is that almost everything is in Korean which can make it difficult to get around. We were in for an adventure. The more he works it, the softer the disk becomes.

While my family sings carols under the tree, I'll be scooping up curry in India and celebrating a good friend's marriage. So I thought I'd look at some photos from last year. A freak snowstorm trapped us in London. But we were able to build a snow family! I got to make fudge with my Nana using her famous recipe. I got to spend time with family.
