http://weddedtotheolivegreen.blogspot.com/2009/03/army-son-rises.html
Wedded to the Olive Green. Friday, March 6, 2009. Nirvikar Yadava, programming head of MY FM channel and the undisputed king of Bhopal’s radio jockeys is a successful army kid. Further elaborating on his experiences he says, “But I must tell you that only we as army kids are able to do all the exciting things! Agree completely with Nirvikar :). Being one myself I can only nod my head in agreement to all his points. Yes,India needs to give her soldiers their due.not just monetarily but otherwise too.

Wedded to the Olive Green: You know you are a true breed fauji kid
http://weddedtotheolivegreen.blogspot.com/2009/06/you-know-you-are-true-breed-fauji-kid.html
Wedded to the Olive Green. Thursday, June 11, 2009. You know you are a true breed fauji kid. 1 You were born in a Military Hospital. 2 Half your toddler years were spent being looked after by Bhaiyas ( no xplanation here). 3 You went to school either on Bhaiya's cycle or in a Shaktiman. 4 You know what a shaktiman is. ( No! It isnt the TV serial about half man and half machine starring AB lookalike). 5 Jeeps and Jongas dont excite you - they were your regular mode of transport! 15 You knew towns like Mho...

Wedded to the Olive Green: God Save the Queen
http://weddedtotheolivegreen.blogspot.com/2009/06/god-save-queen.html
Wedded to the Olive Green. Wednesday, June 3, 2009. God Save the Queen. Latest military board results were again a mixed bag, with lots of disappointments and less good news. It is amazing to note how they manage to contradict all the pre result predictions. The officers you think are most deserving don’t get promoted and there are as always lots of surprise packages or the dark horses as you may want to call them. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wedded to the Olive Green: 10/19/08 - 10/26/08

Wedded to the Olive Green. Friday, October 24, 2008. You must be joking! So they had a stress management workshop for all the army wives in the cantonment the other day. A noted psychologist was invited to speak on the occasion. All the ladies of the station were invited except the separated families! I felt these are the ones who needed the workshop first and the foremost! These are the ones who spend long, lonely, anxious hours day and night. But no! This time again I missed the point! So let’s s...

Wedded to the Olive Green. Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Glamour and Style Unplugged. Each party has its own appeal there are impromptu parties where the lady of the house receives guests at the middle of the night, (bachelors, who insist on having dinner! Well, I would say a LOT! Links to this post. Tuesday, September 16, 2008. A Tiger Never Cries. When was the last time you witnessed a male army officer cry his heart out in front of the full media glare? Just how many Karan Thapars can you think of?

Wedded to the Olive Green. Friday, November 21, 2008. All Things Fauji and Fantastic. That’s because I am a little crazy and love all things even remotely attached to the military world. The craze started long before I got married to the olive green, with our very own Fauji, the famous serial of Shahrukh Khan. But my actual brush of real army movie was( on my husband’s insistence) with Saving Private Ryan, though the plot is great I loved it for Tom Hanks didn’t you? Schindler’s List also holds a s...

Wedded to the Olive Green: An Open Letter to Defence Minister
http://weddedtotheolivegreen.blogspot.com/2013/08/an-open-letter-to-defence-minister.html
Wedded to the Olive Green. Sunday, August 4, 2013. An Open Letter to Defence Minister. Will it not affect the morale of all other soldiers who look upto their seniors. Will it not result in massive premature retirements etc. Why is MOD silent on this entire issue? The nation very well knows that a death of a soldier means nothing to you, more so if he has committed suicide. But have you ever given a thought about what goes behind those crisp Olive Greens with shinning stars, badges and medals? I really a...

Wedded to the Olive Green. Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Strength to carry on……. Photographs like this always tear your heart apart. A departing soldier, who is also a father, a son, a husband, a friend. Though this is a photograph of an American soldier leaving for Iraq but it nevertheless invokes the same dreadful feeling of uncertainty. I am trying to be strong with some great friends and great books but lets see how long I manage. Sometimes I am not too sure myself……. Links to this post.
