Thursday, January 7, 2010. Winbind / samba - Could not convert Sid to Uid. I had a headheach for days with that crasy stuff. I'm running a server under centos 4.8. Most of my user where working but some new users don't. Wbinfo -u showed all my user. Wbinfo -g showed all the group. Getent passwd used to show only the working user. (for me the old one). Wbinfo -n users - they were all working. Wbinfo -S SID used to work for old users but not for the new one. The solution I found :. Passdb backend = tdbsam.

Enter your password or the default password (cisco). Enable (then enter your password). Crypto key generate rsa modulus 1024. Usersame (your username) password (your password). Aaa authentication ssh console LOCAL. You may want to configure the inside outside interface. Ssh 192.168.*.* 255.255.255.0 inside. Or whatever you want).
