This community is for those of us who don't yet have children, but who have stong ideas of things we'll want to do and want to avoid as parents. Be respectful of opinions. Just because someone has certain ideas on how they want to be a parent, does not mean that they are trying to be offensive to those who do differently.

The Parenting Manifesto of Childless Adults. Oct 29th, 2008. Now that I have a kid (I used to always start my posts with if/when I have a kid), I plan to let him control his weaning from breastmilk. My hope it to avoid the mashes spoon feeding thing all together by following the tenets of baby led weaning. Rumor has it that this method helps to reduce picky eating and to me it just seems to encourage mutual respect between parent and child. I'll probably pick up this book. Tags: baby led weaning. The Parenting Manifesto of Childless Adults. Apr 25th, 2008. On not being a hypocrite. Ok so I plan on raising my kid to believe that people can do or not do whatever they want with their own bodies. This would be things like shaving/not shaving, haircuts, style of dress etc. But then I was thinking, if he has one of those scraggly teenage mustaches and decides he doesn't want to shave it, will I mentally mock him as I do to other such young lads?
