Bringing Home Lilyanna: Fiesta!

September 29, 2010. We had a going away party today at the orphange and the children had so much fun. They were spoiled with roasted chicken, cake and lots of good food. We gave them their coats and they seemed to like them alot. What they really liked though was the hats that our friend Linda made them. I've never seen children get so excited over hats! Linda, if you are reading this then just know that your labor was not in vain. You won their little hearts with those hats! By going to bed early :).

After a few days of not feeling so great we're happy to finally be feeling much better. We were able to eat solid food yesterday and today and managed to keep everything down. We have decided not to eat anything fresh until we return back to the States (the fresh stuff is sometimes watered with sewer water.) What a bummer! You can see what's about to happen right? This was snapped just seconds before her precious little feet hauled off and whacked mommy's very upset tummy. Gotta love her! After one week ...

Bringing Home Lilyanna: Busy Day!

Wednesday, October 13. We were able to accomplish many things today. Our lawyers picked us up at 9:00 am and we went straight to pick up Lilyanna's birth certificate. It took a few hours but once we were done we went to the passport office. They gave us a bunch of hassle but we were finally able to get her passport. From there we went to the SNA office to sign our final papers. Yay! Sorry, no pictures today. We were so busy that we didn't have time to even think about it. Perhaps tomorrow :).

After leaving the orphange we signed some final papers and then headed back to Juliaca where we would catch our plane to Lima. Lilyanna did so good with everything! Once we got back to Lima we gathered our luggage (yay, it was all there), made it back to where we will be staying for the next few weeks, took a shower, read a book, and then we all crashed.
