Cold Feet, Warm Hearts. A blog of Fishing and Fishers in Alaska. Saturday, July 26, 2014. Crane Visit- Final Two Days. The day before the Cranes left, our ward (church group) had a camp-out at Camp LaDaSa (a church owned camp.) We arrived on Thursday afternoon. Most of the church members were planning on arriving on Friday evening. There were only two other families with us on Thursday and Friday morning. We unpacked the car and put our things in the cabins. After dinner, we kept the boys up until they l...

Cold Feet, Warm Hearts: Pi Day
http://baskfisher.blogspot.com/2015/03/pi-day.html
Cold Feet, Warm Hearts. A blog of Fishing and Fishers in Alaska. Saturday, March 14, 2015. Every year my daughters remind me of Pi Day, 3-14 (March 14) for the mathematical number Pi (3.14). Or course Pi is an irrational number which doesn't end. This year was unique because when Pi is carried out two more digits, it is 3.1415. So, this March 14, 2015 (3-14-15) was a very special Pi Day. We had to celebrate with pie. Jacob made a Pi sign on his pancake. We had pizza pie and taco pie. Sour Cream Lemon Pie.

Cold Feet, Warm Hearts. A blog of Fishing and Fishers in Alaska. Saturday, June 28, 2014. Since Amy has had all of her babies early (each one has come earlier than the last), I made sure I went to Michigan in plenty of time. I arrived two weeks before her due date. And then we waited. . . and waited. While we waited we had a lot of fun together. I arrived for the last two weeks of school for Olivia and Ethan so they had lots of fun activities. Olivia's class hosted a "Poet's Cafe". I couldn't resist taki...

Cold Feet, Warm Hearts: Birds--Confused or Lost
http://baskfisher.blogspot.com/2015/02/birds-confused-or-lost.html
Cold Feet, Warm Hearts. A blog of Fishing and Fishers in Alaska. Friday, February 20, 2015. Birds- Confused or Lost. Today I looked out the window that there were birds everywhere. I had never seen so many birds in our backyard. The pictures really don't do it justice. They were flying all over in swarms. They would go down on the ground and eat something (I don't know what) then fly and light in the trees. This is like "I spy". You have to look carefully to see the birds. Today we attended his track meet and watched his events - shot put and discus throw. It was a beautiful day and fun to watch Jacob at his sport event. Jacob is so brave to try so many new things in high school! I always thought the throwing events were way too hard! Way to go Jacob! Ps Jacob, arent you cold? Cold Feet, Warm Hearts: December 2014
http://baskfisher.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Cold Feet, Warm Hearts. A blog of Fishing and Fishers in Alaska. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. New Record for Anchorage. Each year since we moved to Alaska, there has been a new record set regarding the weather. We have experienced the rainiest summer, the most snow, the longest winter, and the warmest summer. And now the new record - the first year with no temperatures falling below 0 degrees. I'm not complaining. I rather enjoy the warmer weather. We'll see what kind of record is set next year. Both Bre...

http://baskfisher.blogspot.com/2015/03/eagle-scout-banquet.html
Cold Feet, Warm Hearts. A blog of Fishing and Fishers in Alaska. Friday, March 6, 2015. The Boy Scouts of America Great Alaska Council held its annual awards banquet. All scouts who earned the rank of Eagle in 2014 were invited. We enjoyed a nice steak dinner. The key note speaker was the President and CEO of GCI (an Alaskan telecommunications company.) He is also an Eagle Scout and he talked about how scouting helped him get to where he is today. Inside the program, each Eagle Scout project was explained.
