Designs by Kara Kihm: The Sanctuary
http://designsbykarakihm.blogspot.com/2012/01/sanctuary.html
My in-laws stayed at the Sanctuary. This year while we were down in Kiawah and I have to say the food and service were unbelievable! We enjoyed cocktail walks near the Ocean. And Reading on the Balcony. Mom and Mama Vick bonding. They had a great view of the Ocean from their room. And My father in-law found his portrait in the Lobby. Do you see the resemblance? Finally the room service was out of this world! Food to die for! Designs by Kara Kihm. March 7, 2012 at 7:43 AM. September 6, 2012 at 11:22 PM.

I had the Awesome Opportunity to chat with Melissa Akey Co-Owner of Thread. A mutual friend introduced us-Thanks Elisabeth! It was so nice to chat with someone who has accomplished her goals and is actually making it all happen in NYC! Since thread is produced in the U.S. I was so happy to learn more about local production. Melissa was so sweet and encouraging and I really appreciated her pearls of wisdom :). Here are some fav's from the 2011 Collection. The Raven Seersucker Collection. Links to this post.

Designs by Kara Kihm: The Ocean Course
http://designsbykarakihm.blogspot.com/2012/01/ocean-course.html
While in Kiawah we enjoyed an afternoon at The Ocean Course. It's one of Mac's favorite courses to play. We ate lunch at The Ryder Cup Bar and I had the most wonderful order of Fish Tacos. We enjoyed walking the grounds. And Mac is really looking forward to watching the PGA Championship, which will be held there this year. It's definitely a great spot for some beautiful views and a yummy lunch! Designs by Kara Kihm. My Life as A Plate. January 18, 2012 at 6:42 AM. Looks like you have a fabulous time!

The Picasso Exhibit has come to the VMFA. 11 rooms are filled with his works from 1900-1973. After the exhibit we grabbed some lunch and went to the new cup cake store in Carytown. It was too precious. It was a nice way to spend a sat with friends. Designs by Kara Kihm. Links to this post. Well the past two weeks here have been just Wild! I can not even believe that last week we were dealing with an earthquake and after shocks that woke us up nightly and this week we've been without power until last night due to a hurricane. My goodness! I have to say we are very blessed because nothing happened to our house. My poor neighbors and the rest of my neighborhood were not so lucky. I just had to document Hanover Ave! Here's the house at the end of our block. Designs by Kara Kihm. I just love he...

My parents live in Clifton, Virginia which is an adorable, and charming town outside of D.C. It reminds me so much of an old "timey" town and is full of horse farms. On the way home from NYC I decided to spend an evening with my folks and check out a restaurant on Main street, Trummers. This precious 4 star restaurant has a great ambiance and several private dinning areas. The wine cellar was most impressive and they displayed gorgeous art work for sale through out the restaurant.
