The following was written by my grandfather, Bernard Doc deVries. Lake Superior was in a particularly sunny mood that day and gentle swells were approaching the shore and quietly receding. The sun was shining brightly and the whole scene was one of utter tranquility. We stood and gazed up and finally discovered an old trail leading up to the bank. Charles Elleman deVries - Born January 19, 2007. Our first son was born Friday, January 19, 2007 at 8:50PM. He weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces, and measured 20 inches.
