Probably my favourite type of fishing is casting small lures on light tackle to finicky fish in shallow water, the local rivers offer great opportunity for this. The last week has been too lumpy offshore so it was the chance to set the boat up with the bowmount electric and 4 kilo leaders. Nice Flattie on Vibe. Shark on plastic from the shallows.

Ive caught a few Snapper high in the water column before but not in the circumstance that we witnessed the other day. We both cast our lures and the fish hooked up straight away, after a nail biting fight that had it wrapped up in kelp for a time a lovely 5 kilo Snapper surfaced, quite a surprise and very exciting sight casting to surface feeding Snapper.
