Stolen Sunset - day one. Every new book is an adventure for me. And like any adventure worth having, it is in turn scary and exhilarating. My stories tend to brew in my mind for quite a while, like hurricanes forming out there in the Atlantic. They usually start with a tiny nagging idea. I then begin to write copious notes as new "what if? Ideas occur to me. And that's where I am today - ten pages into my detailed outline. And again, magic happened. Double Tap - Locked and Loaded. Turning a manuscript ov...

Stolen Sunset - day thirteen. The outline for Stolen Sunset is finished. Now the real work begins. Two thousand to three thousand words a day for the next few months. At last I know where I am heading. Even if it's a dark, but thrilling place. I can hardly wait until the book is finished and I can share it with you. For now, I hope that you will join me for all the ups and downs of the writing process. Your comment will be posted after it is approved. Are you on our Mailing List?
The host with the most... - Peter McGarvey

The host with the most. I got a note from a reader the other day asking about my inspiration for the former horror show host Count Eyegore in HAIR TRIGGER. She naturally assumed the character had been inspired by Sir Graves Ghastly who hosted a show on Detroit television. While there are aspects of Sir Graves in the character, he is actually based on Cleveland horror host Ghoulardi- who was a huge influence on me when I first arrived in Southwestern Ontario in the mid-60s. Here he is in action.
Stolen Sunset - week four - Peter McGarvey

Stolen Sunset - week four. I've been really, really busy (and productive) and have now reached 60,000 words in STOLEN SUNSET. In addition, I am starting to do the revisions and final edits on DOUBLE TAP -my next Rip and Wilma adventure. Needless to say, I have not been doing many updates here. So enough excuses . We are starting to put together my fall schedule, which will include at least one reading here in Toronto. We are setting it up now and as soon as I have all the details, I will let you know.

Update - Foggy Sunset. Sorry for the delay on the third Molly Parsons mystery, FOGGY SUNSET. I've heard from quite a few people wondering just when the heck the book will finally appear. I am pleased to announce that the book is in the final stages of editing, and will be published later this spring. I expect to be out on the road this summer doing various events and readings. Once the schedule is firmed up I will post it here. All in all, 2018 is shaping up to be an exciting year. Despite a little damp ...
