Gallery 4 - Douat's Method of Permutation. He showed that by rotating the divided two-coloured square through 90 degrees, four variants are produced; these are marked with the first four letters of the alphabet and by numbers in the first table. In the second table, sets of two such variants are shown to result in 16 possibilities; going on from that sets of three result in 64 permutations and sets of four result in 256 possible permutations.

Gallery 6 - Miscellaneous. This gallery is made up of different artworks, prints and meaningful quotations that do not necessarily have a connection with each other. THEN, THEN and NOW. JOHN OF NEW YORK. LOOK TO THIS DAY".

Gallery 2 - LottoArt. Another facet of my work involves experimental abstract layouts based solely on ‘Chance and Order’. I am very interested in the way chance and probability events play out in art and life and I wanted to devise a way of expressing and exploring these thoughts and ideas. My inspiration came from the British constructivist artist, Kenneth Martin. He used graph paper and various set co-ordinates to produce his chance and order paintings of 1960’s.

Gallery 3 - Postcards. I am dedicating this range of postcard images to my best friend Philip Wood (featured in a couple of them) who died very suddenly of a heart attack in October 1993. He was only 41 years old. His inspiration and encouragement was a huge part in helping me rekindle my active interest in art and creative writing.

Gallery 1 - Digital Montages. Over the course of forty odd years I have amassed a huge collection of images and cuttings from Sunday supplements, magazines and newspapers of people, places and nature that meant something to me. Long before personal computers were around, I intended to make a series of montages in the conventional ‘cut and paste’ way, which I loved doing. The following digital montages were the result of over ten years getting used to using the computer for image manipulation.

Peter Moore
Vroom by the Sea. Vroom with a View. Same Same But Different. Swahili for the Broken-Hearted. The Wrong Way Home. Hello My name is Peter Moore. I go on grand adventures and write about them. I’ve been wandering the world since a life-altering encounter with the Big Nambas of Vanuatu, age 19. The Big Nambas wear nothing but a strategically wrapped red cloth. Some things never leave you. Never. I’ve travelled overland from London to Sydney. And made my way from Cape Town to Cairo. Welcome to my website.

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog
Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog. Tuesday, 20 March 2018. The first Adder of the year is always a thrill. On closer inspection, my first Adder of 2018 turned out to be two Adders. A recent visit to Portland. Unfortunately this non-native species appears to prosper at the expense of native lizards. They tend to return to the scene of past crimes so despite the frequent disappearing acts, a few photographs were possible with patience. Wall Lizard, Portland. Wall Lizard, Portland. Finishing off the Lizard. Rock ...
