A Charmouth Challenge running blog. These are some of my regular training routes (distance markers are in kilometers, sorry Sheri) . . . Short Run (5.78km, 3.50 miles). Medium Run (8.47km, 5.26 miles). Same as above, but after Stonebarrow car park keep going on the Chardown Hill, down the steep descent then cut straight down to rejoin the Challenge route at the coast path before running up past Westhay Farm and rejoing the previous route. Longer Run (10.56 km, 6.56 miles). Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

A Charmouth Challenge running blog. 2011 Charmouth Challenge is tomorrow at 3pm. This will be my second attempt having last year finished it a creditable 1hr 30m. Not so confident this year but you never know. Although I’ve been pretty much injury free in the run up to the race, I have been feeling down on energy every time I run compared to last year. A Charmouth Challenge running blog. So how did it go Pete? The Egdon Easy 10k is a flattish course around the Lodmoor Nature Reserve. A few little twisty bits, a couple of small inclines, and a flat drag back along Preston Beach Road into a decent breeze. Oh and it’s in the evening. We started and finished at Weymouth College, although the start was delayed by about ten minutes as there was a barrier across the track at about 300m that nobody had the keys for! Thank you Egdon Heath Harriers. Not sure why...

And then one thing leads to another and before you know it I’ve been for four runs. I’d like to be able to say I feel ashamed. But I don’t. I’m revelling in it. I love it. The warm air, the stunning views. I don’t care! I’m a runner again! Well I can’t do the fun run in July. That would mean getting embarrased by hoards of eight-year olds!
