It's not made of gummy bears. But we'll deal, I guess. November 21, 2012. Before the before pics. Here it is. Don’t let the pretty exterior fool you. Here’s the entryway and then oh man LOOK AT THAT LIVING ROOM. Oh, check the family room. It has a fireplace which will be great for lighting all that wood paneling on fire. So folks, brace yourself for a blog filled with jive talkin’ like no other. Be sure to visit my cheese-lovin’ alter ego at Fromage Photography! Wow A lot has changed since I last blogged way back in February. Three months ago, I left my job and took the plunge. I go to the gym at least three times a week. I’m eating hea...Before,...

Bringing light to development. Lesson learned: hierarchical custom post types don’t scale well. The other day I ran into an issue where an in-house developed WordPress plugin with custom post types was causing an out of memory error when attempting to view the custom posts in the admin dashboard. Group them based on ID and post parent. Begin rendering posts until we’ve reached the total to display per page. Http:/ core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/15459. This entry was posted in WordPress. Bringing light to development. Tag Archives: Application Cache. I recently built an offline web app which uses HTML5 features such as Application Cache, IndexedDB, and the FileSystem API. This web app is a Medical Records System that uses WordPress as a backend. Bringing light to development. Putting cure.org on a diet. As the Director of Technology Development at CURE International, one of my primary responsibilities is the care and feeding of CURE’s website, http:/ cure.org. Cureorg started out as a WordPress site in 2009 and frankly speaking, it has put on some weight since then. Our homepage currently loads over 5mb in resources. Thanks to profiling tools such as New Relic. Profiling on mobile devices reveals even slower times. Move images to a CDN. Optimize...
