NWPhotoSchool: November 2012

Tuesday, November 20, 2012. The pictures in between. I was traveling between two cities in the state of Rajasthan, India.when I happened upon this itinerant group of locals, and whispered quietly to my driver.STOP THE CAR! My point here, is that some of your best shots will be those moments when you are "in between" two places, and not really thinking about what's flying by the car ( or bus or train ) window. So never let your guard down.opportunities will pop up in the most unforeseen locations. Wellit'...

Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Ok….so sometimes you just get lucky. I was wandering around Bondi Beach in Sydney Australia on a quiet afternoon, and happened to notice a salt water swimming pool at the far end of the beach. As I got closer, I noticed not only that the pool was empty, but that 2 young boys were standing quietly in the waterless environment. Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Banking on the fog. I'd driven by this location on the Oregon Coast many times, but this early morning was different. The small fishing port of Garibaldi, Oregon was shrouded in fog, and the sun was just starting to peek through the haze. The fog was obscuring a busy background, and only revealing the docks closest to me. Shoot first.eat breakfast later! Canon 1Ds Mark II with EF 70-200mm f2.8 IS zoom lens @ 1/250th f 5.6. NWPhotoSchool: Rainy Day Refuge

Monday, February 24, 2014. I was wandering around Central Park on a dreary New York afternoon, looking for anything to shoot in the cold, flat light when the clouds opened up on me. There's nothing like being caught unexpectedly with all your camera gear in a downpour, so I quickly. Dashed under a bridge to try and keep things dry. There was no let up in the monsoon rains, so I started to explore the framing possibilities the bridges' arches were offering me. Canon 5D with 24-70mm lens.
