Meet Pete. He's a cat. September 10, 2012. Pete is here, and also there. One afternoon, whilst lolling about indolently, as Pete is wont to do, an object appeared in his periphery. Turning his gaze towards it, Pete noticed that it had a form not unlike his own, and was also possessed of eyes his exact shade of yellow and a coat of glossy black fur. Meet Pete. He's a cat. Calamity negotiates her place in the world. This post is not about Pete, because Pete wanted nothing to do with the humans today, as most days of late, and went out to hunt for Pure Evil. Instead, this is about Calamity and how she is learning to be a cat, and her approach to negotiating her place in the cat hierarchy. Replacing Calamity in her aerie perch, the human’s attention shifted back to Old Chub who was now sprawled out on the cushion, on the floor, basking in the sun.
