The Purple Door: July 2010
http://jvegors.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
July 28, 2010. DIY Fixed Roman Shades. I recently saw a blog post with DIY roman shade curtains (here). And decided to give it the old college try. I thought 1) I hadn't used my sewing machine in a while and 2) our bathroom windows could use a little color, and 3) this was the perfect solution, since it's a fixed shade - it doesn't go up and down, it's just for looks. (I know, SO many people see our master bathroom! Here is the BEFORE shot:. And here are the results:. July 10, 2010. July 2, 2010. There a...

The Purple Door: April 2012
http://jvegors.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
April 25, 2012. Until last week, I had never even thought about attempting a key lime pie. I guess I just thought it was too complicated. Well I was wrong! I used this recipe. For the graham cracker crust, and this one. For the pie. I also spread a layer of Tru Whip on top, delish! Apparently I was too interested in eating it that I forgot to take a picture of the finished product! This one looks very similar to how mine turned out. April 22, 2012. Can't wait to put them to use in my belly =). Subscribe t...

The Purple Door: Curb Appeal
http://jvegors.blogspot.com/2012/05/curb-appeal.html
May 22, 2012. For the last year or so, it's been a mound of dirt/mud that we couldn't decide how to landscape. But finally, some inspiration struck, and we got started! We went for the half sitting area/ half garden. and a vegetable garden at that! Yep, in the front yard! So now we just have to wait and see if anything ends up growing in that soil. At least it looks 100 times better than it did! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Simple template. Template images by merrymoonmary.

The Purple Door: June 2012
http://jvegors.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
June 2, 2012. Last October, we said farewell to the deck in our back yard. It was ugly, rotting, and just in overall bad shape. Don't let the picture fool you. For the next six months we would go back and forth debating whether to put in brick pavers, flagstone, or concrete. We got sick of looking at a backyard full of dirt (much like the front area that is now a garden) so we decided on concrete! Jay can play basketball back there once we put in a hoop. The Purple Door: October 2012
http://jvegors.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
October 10, 2012. Last month we took a trip to Santa Barbara. There were two driving factors in this:. 1) The AVP Beach Volleyball Championships were being held there, and. 2) It would probably be our last chance to take a vacation for a while with the expectance of Baby V. in February. A blurry picture of our B&B suite. Where we ate breakfast every morning and had brownies and hot cider at night! Manhattan Beach Pier (where all the beach volleyball champions get their name added each year).

June 17, 2010. We've been spending so much time on making the INSIDE of our house the way we want it, that we haven't put very much thought into the EXTERIOR. until now! My current project will slightly change the way our house looks from the street. But you'll have to wait until I'm finished to find out what! In the mean time, here are some pictures of flowers in our yard. most of which we were lucky enough to have already here when we moved in! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

April 22, 2012. I have recently been introduced to a produce co-op called Bountiful Baskets. You sign up each Monday, then go Saturday morning to get a huge basket of fruits and vegetables for only $15! They have a ton of locations around Texas as well as other states, so check it out to see if there's one near you! This was my first week to try it, and here's what I ended up with:. Can't wait to put them to use in my belly =). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Purple Door: March 2012
http://jvegors.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
March 7, 2012. Here is a much-needed update on the ol' blog, and pictures from our vacation to HAWAII last month! We stayed in Oahu, right on Waikiki Beach, and it was 7 full days of amazing sight-seeing, relaxation, and beach time! Now that we're back to reality, our next project is to paint the kitchen cabinets, yahoo! They were already white to begin with, but just looked really dingy and beat up. So I suppose most people wouldn't even notice the difference. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Purple Door: November 2011
http://jvegors.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
November 11, 2011. I knew that my friend from college had started a cake making business, but I had no idea how AWESOME they looked until last weekend when I saw her website! Yes people, that is a cake! She does weddings, showers, birthdays, you name it. I am so impressed with her creativity and ability to make a cake look so cool! These flowers aren't even real, they're SUGAR! Check out her website. And if you happen to live in Baton Rouge, look her up! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
