A BRIEF PROFILE OF DHANSIRIPAR SUB-DIVISION. Dhansiripar sub-division consist of 21 recognised villages and around 8(eight) un-recognised villages. It has a total population of 20,359 (twenty thousand three hundred fifty nine) according to 2001 census. Major tribes of the sub-division consist of Dimasa, Kachari, Sema and Angami although other Naga tribes exist on minority. Reminiscences of the glory of this kingdom can be found in the ruins that are scattered in and around the town. This ruins give evidence of a culture that probably had a touch of Hinduism, but were predominantly Non-Aryans. Besides monoliths, Dimapur contains other ruins of temples, embankments and baths.
