Snapshots of a daily life: the mundane, the beautiful, and everything in between. Thursday, June 26, 2014. Snacking: yay or nay? Apples aren't completely related to this post, but happily, I can eat them again! I was allergic/intolerant to them for years, but the symptoms have faded in the past few months. I can't wait for the fall - apple orchards, here I come! Question of the day: are you a snacker? If you're a snacker, when do you find that the munchies hit? What do you reach for? Wisconsin: The Dairy...

Snapshots of a daily life: the mundane, the beautiful, and everything in between. Monday, September 08, 2014. What's the most awkward way to return from an unplanned, late-summer* blogging break? By posting on your even-more-abandoned fashion blog. 1 awkward point for me! Anyway, I'm doing my own little Skirtember challenge. check it out here. Can I talk for a moment about the rush into fall? I don't like it. Lemme quote Joy the Baker. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Snapshots of a daily life: the mundane, the beautiful, and everything in between. Monday, April 28, 2014. Where is my trust? Throughout the past six weeks or so, I've learned so much. I've grappled with sad and scary things, like anxiety, self-loathing, doubt, sadness, pain, fear and anger. Yet, there have also been times of joy, rest, release, gratefulness, and singing. I've been overwhelmed by both fear and joy, at different points. Look at all of the fears He's taken away! Do I wish I felt different?

Posted a video of Alton Brown making grilled-grilled cheese. (Cheesy goodness aside, the video is an excellent example of how charming Alton Brown is. Check it out. Jordan and I were inspired to make our own grilled-grilled cheese! The grill master, hard at work. Bread, getting all kinds of toasty. Tuesday, Ma...

The Daily Snapshot: The end of an era

Snapshots of a daily life: the mundane, the beautiful, and everything in between. Sunday, November 30, 2014. The end of an era. I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I'm quietly shutting the doors of The Daily Snapshot. Blogging has fulfilled many different roles for me. It was a way to cry for community when I had none. It was a chance to be forthright, to see my opinions in writing. It provided a panel to showcase my growing love of photography. It sharpened my writing skills. December 02, 2014.

The Daily Snapshot: February 2014

Snapshots of a daily life: the mundane, the beautiful, and everything in between. Wednesday, February 26, 2014. I'm not awesome. and that's okay. This quote irks me. I don't watch "How I Met Your Mother", so I don't know the context of the quote, but I've seen it around the internet plenty of times. It always rubbed me the wrong way, but I wasn't able to put my finger on why until recently. Legitimate. Who wouldn't love to command themselves to stop feeling sad? Allowing ourselves to feel sad and grow.

We set aside a weekend specifically for the fences. We invited Jordan's family and friends over, promising them food in exchange for labor. Jordan's family was especially gracious, and put in a lot. Of time, along with our friend, Herb. Look at everything we did! Tore down the old fences. Put up the rails.

On one hand, it went by in the blink of an eye, but on the other hand, it felt like a restful time. I haven't finished my third summer goal. September 18, 2014. That picture looks so calm and relaxing. I am glad your anxiety has come to more manageable levels. September 25, 2014.

The Daily Snapshot: Summer goals
http://www.thedailysnapshot.org/2014/06/summer-goals.html
Snapshots of a daily life: the mundane, the beautiful, and everything in between. Thursday, June 05, 2014. Every year, I try to create some summer goals for myself. And every year, I usually fall flat, and feel unaccomplished. I end up relaxing more than I plan, frittering away the hours reading or playing with Kendel. This year, I'm starting with a new mindset. This year, I'm saying "that's okay". It's a good change. I'm looking forward to the new, looser mindset. Replace the old fences in our yard....
