Monday, April 27, 2009. What is the gospel? To hear some speak, the gospel is merely the facts. They say that 1 Corinthians 15 makes it clear that the gospel is compromised of the facts of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Well, let's see. First, the word gospel means "good news." Good news is a message, not facts. This message was made known, preached, and received. They took their stand on this message. They were saved by this message. Third, they sought obedience to their message.

Monday, May 24, 2010. This week, in studying for my class on 1 Corinthians, I was impressed again with the importance placed on baptism in the New Testament. Paul writes in 1:12-13 – “Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying, ‘I am of Paul,’ and ‘I of Apollos,’ and ‘I of Cephas,’ and ‘I of Christ.’ Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? 8211; Was He ever intended to be? They knew the answer. To ask the question was to answer it.
