On the costume trail again, this time some really handsome bits to hang on my belt. From Tod's Stuff a 'ballock' dagger and a leather pouch from Karl Robinson. So the bowman would perhaps have carried a spare bowstring, beeswax to keep it in good order, maybe arrowheads or a few coins, just all the general bits you'd keep with you. Well, I do like to give myself work to do. Purchased an aventail from Get Dressed for Battle. It's a chain mail skirt that fits round the rim of a bascinet helmet to protect the neck and shoulders, usually with leather straps.
