All Roads Go Home (Eventually). Friday, December 31, 2010. Varanasi - a city of mystical awesome wonderment. My awareness of Varanasi was awakened by our friend Jason, with whom we shared Sevastopol in our Peace Corps days. He traveled to India in 2008 and wrote about Varanasi on his travel blog. Jason captured me with his comment about smelling barbecue. Entry and closet doors. I took several additional photos of the hotel, available with this link. Entry to the Palace on the Ganges. All Roads Go Home (Eventually). Thursday, January 13, 2011. From Sunday November 7 and Monday November 8. We spent Sunday evening and early Monday morning on the Ganges. The Ganges is the quintessential Indian cultural experience. Two eyes, two ears and a nose are not enough sensory instrumentation to take it all in. This was a feast for the ears and nose as well as the eyes. Well, look at the video. Here is a link to all of the pictures I took on this wonderful evening. Of tour members on the boat.

Although it was interesting to wander the narrow gates and spacious courtyards, its main attractions now are the museum pieces and the unbelievable stone filigree work in the Women's Quarters. All Roads Go Home (Eventually). Sunday, March 27, 2011. From Wednesday November 10, 2010. Our first stop of the day was a short tour of the Khajuraho Eastern Temple Group. This group was a Jain Temple complex with no erotic carvings and was not nearly as interesting as the temples we saw the previous day.
